Offered for sale is an exceptionally clean, echanically strong and entirely solid 1973 Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV. Finished in tasteful and era-specific Rosso Amaranto over a Cuoio Naturale interior - one of the most desirable color combinations to ever grace Giorgetto Guigiaro's aggressive design - the car was always well looked after by long-term enthusiast owners. In 1993, he car's most recent owner (of 22+ years) purchased the car from Centerline Alfa in Lafayette, O, ne of the preeminent Alfa Romeo parts suppliers in the United States. The car's previous owner had been a Centerline customer and they effectively brokered the deal before continuing to supply a bevy of parts and service recommendations for the car for the ensuing two decades. The body and chassis are excellent and the car has benefitted from rebuilds on the engine, ransmission, uspension, rakes and driveline and a relatively recent cosmetic restoration.
Wonderfully sophisticated and factory correct, he Rosso Amaranto paint is in truly fantastic condition: rich, onsistent and marred only by minor imperfections, one of which are significant enough to appear in any of the pictures. All of the glass, ubber and brightwork are in excellent original shape and the body is free of bondo and is entirely straight, ith factory consistent panel fits and gaps. The Campagnolo Campanatura wheels are in excellent condition and are wrapped in Yokohama AVS tires with plenty of remaining tread.
The car's interior is equally clean, ith the seats, arpets and interior panels all in great shape. The original Texalfa upholstery on the front seats was beginning to look a bit tatty, o we had the seats refurbished in correct Cuoio Naturale. Hardly ever used, he original rear seats are in excellent original condition, he dash cover is free of any cracks or warping and the trunk remains original and clean with the spare tire and changing tools.
With ample power and go-cart handling, his GTV is an absolute blast to drive. The 72K miles showing on the odometer is believed to be original mileage and the well-cared-for, riginal, umbers matching DOHC Inline 4 cylinder engine starts effortlessly, dles consistently and pulls strongly through each of the original 5-speed transmission's gears. The Spica fuel injection was replaced with dual Weber carburetors by the previous owner, lthough the original Spica unit is functional and included in the sale. When all of the mechanicals were rebuilt, he car also received Euro cams, igh compression pistons, ig valves and a 4.11 rear axle, owever the original 4.54 unit remains as a spare, long with a number of additional hard to find spare parts. The four wheel disc brakes bring the car safely to stop and steering and cornering is precise. The car comes with a binder full of restoration, arts and service receipts going back to through the early 1990s.
The GT Veloce is arguably the last Alfa to truly be considered a classic and the final iteration, he 2000 GTV, mbodies the perfect blend of a more modern drivability and power while retaining all of the visceral thrill of the earlier cars. Partially due to the rapid appreciation of other preceding Alfa models, artially due to the timeless Bertone design and partially due to the fact that relatively few solid examples are left, 000 GTV values have been steadily on the rise for the last few years, aking this is an excellent opportunity to acquire a beautiful, olid, echanically strong, un-to-drive and appreciating classic.
