Car description

CLEAR TITLE. CAR IS LOCATED IN CHARLOTTE, C.You are bidding on one 1972 "Kamm Tail" Alfa Romeo Spider. 5 Speed. Rare Yellow Original Color. Original engine AR01500*00135 converted to Dual Weber 45 DCOE's. Runs great, rives good. Aftermarket hardtop with Enkei Wheels on Pirelli P6 Cinturatos with Koni RED shocks..... A true period correct, ildly customized example. It has been garaged kept for a majority of it's life. There has been one respray, ut in the original color. Respray was done awhile back....was done pretty well, ut is showing it's age. Interior is in great shape for 40+ years old. NEW: Front brake hoses and calipers and gas tank with filler hose. Also new clutch slave cylinder and new rear exhaust. I got this from an older gentleman who was selling off his vintage car collection. It was parked in his garage with a couple other older cars. He had owned it since 1998....he purchased it from his son in law who owned it since 1986. I have old registrations, ontinuous from 1986 to 2009.The USA 1972 Alfa Spider was the first with(LSD) Limited Slip Differential...the USA 1971 did not have LSD. 1972 was the last model year to come with "flush" front bumpers. Later subsequent models had the plastic/rubber bumperettes. The 1972 also came with a 2000cc engine as opposed to the 1750cc of 1970-1971.Tires are older and should be replaced. There is some significant rust confined to the outer rocker on the driver side, river rear fender at the bottom and some not so significant rust behind the front passenger wheel. The floors have a few areas of corrosion. One spot behind passenger seat and a few areas in the upper front portions of each floorboard where they meet the firewall. (SEE PHOTOS).TONS OF BIGGER AND BETTER PHOTOS AND VIDEO OF CAR DRIVING AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LISTING. CLICK ON THE VIEW ALL BUTTON TO SEE THE PHOTOS/VIDEO.This is a great car to drive as is or restore. The carbs could use a little more idle tuning, ut are damn close to being right on, hey pull great under throttle. I did replace all the o-rings in the carbs, he insides of the carbs are nice and clean. The vinyl top will need to be replaced(plastic window cracked and top has shrunk over time), ut does function properly...but has shrunk too much to be completely latched. Most electrical working...I'll update electrical items tomorrow...as well as engine compression numbers...and I'll have photos of the trunk also. Here are the details:ENGINE: I will post engine compression numbers tomorrow. Engine runs well. Original 2 Liter Spica car...converted to Dual Weber 45 DCOE. A little fussy when cold, ut runs great once warmed up. No apparent leaks or smoking. The carbs could use a little bit of final tuning for smoother idle...otherwise they pull great. Engine holds temperature and does not overheat. The exhaust is new from the center section back.INTERIOR: Very good condition for an original 40+ year old interior. Dash top is uncracked. Passenger seat has a couple of tears, river seat is pretty good with a few nicks here and there(SEE PHOTOS). Rubber mats in good condition except one small dime size hole in driver front mat right in the middle of the Alfa crest. The rear vinyl trim mat was drilled for upgraded period performance seatbelts.TRANSMISSION: Shifts well, ut there is some 2nd gear syncro grinding that get's better as it warms up.CHASSIS: Appears mostly original with no evidence of wrecks. Older Koni RED shocks. New front brake hoses and calipers. Aftermarket Enkei 14" wheels in fair condition, ome curb rash, ut overall presentable...but not show quality. The painted areas are in great shape....with some polishing, he aluminum could shine up quite nice. Some evidence of front tie rod end wear, ut car drives fine and tracks straight. The tires are Pirelli P6 Cinturatos 195/60-14...they are old but do hold air and ride decent but should be replaced due to age.BODY: Overall in good condition, o major dents....but there is some rust in the driver outer rocker and driver rear lower fender. A small spot of rust behind passenger front wheel. Some evidence of filler in front lower valance panel and on right side of rear lower valance panel. Glass is in good condition. Floors are mostly solid. There is one spot behind passenger seat that has rusted out(see photos), nd a few spots up front at each floor pan where they meet the firewall that have some corrosion(see photos). Aftermarket hardtop in good condition. Original vinyl top is complete but does need to be replaced(cracked glass and top has shrunk).ELECTRICAL: Headlights, ash lights, orn and wipers working. I'll have an update on the rest of the electrical tomorrow.WHAT WOULD I DO: The early Kamm Tail Alfas are getting very hard to find...the price of Duetto's (Boat Tail) Spiders are getting out of reach. This is a great candidate for restoration, ue to the rare color and overall condition. You could also just do a few weekends of tune-up work and have a great looking fun play toy.I am a 100% positive feedback user/seller for over 13 years. I expect the same level of professionalism from interested parties. Feel free to ask questions. I may be interested in trades for PRE-WAR motorcycles (preferably European).OK, ere are all the things I have to state because of the idiots of the world and the ebay scammers:IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 200 FEEDBACK, OU MUST CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING, F NOT, OUR BID WILL BE CANCELED, O EXCEPTIONS!!! PAYMENT IS DUE WITHIN 7 DAYS OF AUCTION END AND CAR MUST BE PICKED UP WITHIN 14 DAYS OF AUCTION END. Forgot to mention that the gas level sending unit is not working and the speedometer cable is unhooked at the transmission. My apologies for overlooking this. The gentleman I bought it from said he did not drive it a whole lot, ostly sunny weekends, o I don't figure it has been unhooked for thousands and thousands of miles.
