Car description

up for auction is this Alfa Romeo Montreal manufactured in 1976, ut titled as a 1977. In 1976 only 16 Montreals were built, nd in 1977 (last year of production) only 27 were made. This particular Montreal has been modified. A prior owner had the roof converted to a "targa top" and it is the only one known with this conversion. The car is green with a black leather interior. Originally, t was green with a tan interior. The current green color is not factory. the car has optional power windows.

during the conversion process the two lower "cockpit" vent slats were removed from behind the doors and moved to the front fenders. the look is much improved in my opinion.

the car is powered by the Alfa tipo 33 racing aluminum 4cam V-8, ut in street tune. the transmission is a ZF 5 speed same as used in the De Tomaso Pantera. In fact, uch of the controls in the panel are the same as the Pantera. This car is in very good driver condition, ut it is not ready for a "judged" concour event. Some cosmetics will be needed should one want to enter a concour event.

The car has approximately 70,000 kilometers on the speedometer. this would translate to about 42,000 miles. The engine starts right up. The engine does NOT smoke at all.

The car drives very nicely. The wheels are later 5 spoke mags with Alfa Romeo centers. There are 5 of these. I also have 4 of the original campagnolos which go with the car. It has spica fuel injection as original but is using special ram tubes and air cleaners. The original factory air cleaner comes with the car.

In addition I have some spare parts including a complete set of rear tail light lens (cost me $750), wo NOS window switches, nd two NOS power window motors. The car comes with a copy of the owners manual, hop manual, ocumentation in the form of a note book with the original sketch of the targa top conversion. Also, riginal photos of the car when it was converted showing the body work in progress. It also comes with the Alfa Storico email attesting to when it was built. Also, ncluded are the Bruce Taylor books on the Montreal (2).

This car is in very good driver condition, nd drives as it should. It is not a concour car, ut could be made into one with some cosmetics. It has some minor scrapes here and there, lmost undetectable unless you are 4 feet away. It is truly a super nice Montreal with one-off modifications which I personally think make it look a lot better than in stock configuration.

At the end of the day, f you want to go to a car show, r an alfa romeo event, nd take this car you will be the hit of the show. Its that cool. I drove it today, nd passed some people on bicycles. Two of the four yelled out NICE car.

The green color is almost green pearlescentblue depending on how the light hits it. I encourage you to come and see it. I am in the San Francisco bay area. The car really looks good in person. The photos do not do this car justice. Please call me at 707-473-0609 with questions or to get additional pictures
