Car description

1960 VW Karmann Ghia Coupe Incredible Original Unrestored Example

I am pleased to offer this incredible piece of vintage/classic VW history. Available today is a highly original/unrestored 1960 Karmann Ghia Coupe. It has only been driven 36,000 +/- since new and has been under one family ownership for 58 years (prior to the current owner). Strato blue exterior with Arctic blue roof. How cool is that?

The VIN # is 3090330 and includes original owner's manual as well as VW certificate of authenticity along with VW certificate of original engine (very important). Truly an investment grade VW. Would be very welcome in any vintage VW collection or museum.

1960 features fuel reserve, split case trans. choke, ribbed dash pad, metal grab handles and 36HP engine. Car runs and drives fine with only 36,000 original miles. Original two tone paint is in nice shape and totally serviceable. Even the rims have the original paint still on them. Chrome is all there and in excellent condition.

The original interior is also all there and in nice shape i.e. headliner, door panels, visors, knobs, seat upholstery, carpets and rubber mats. The corduroy seat inserts have changed color over the past 59 years (see pictures) but that's what original is.

Car was previously a California black plate car and according to the previous owner, has never seen rain and is rust free. Comes with tons of documentation including original purchase invoice, window sticker, owner's manual, service and gas receipts documenting the mileage. Also comes with some cool stuff like the original jack (looks brand new) and original white wall spare tire as well as tool kit.

After 59 years and no repaints, the car has some cosmetic flaws as you can imagine. It's only original once and this car is still enjoying it's originality. See pictures for best illustration. Don't expect a perfect and pristine restored car. If you value and appreciate originality, this car will be perfect for you.
