Car description

1964 Plymouth Savoy Drag Car For Sale. Classic style and state-of-the-art drag-racing technology intersect in this 1964 Plymouth Drag Car. Constructed in 2002 from a rare Canadian built factory max wedge car (believed to be the only max wedge car with a body side molding) and updated with race-proven equipment and fabrication, this mountain-motored monster looks intimidating as it flies down the quarter mile in classic Belvedere B-body style. The Belvedere's 572 CI worth of Keith Black V-8 block and cylinder heads make for quick and fast runs down the strip. The RB-series wedge is equipped with a pair of Barry Grant Dominator 4-barrel competition carburetors fed by a BG400 fuel system and pressure regulator. An MSD 7AL-3 delay-box ignition lights the fire and multiport nitrous oxide waits to add more power. Dry-sump oiling incorporates a Hamburger's aluminum oil pan, System One oil filter and belt-driven camshaft. Power gets down to the ground through a Reid Powerglide automatic transmission and Strange axle kept in line by a 4-link rear suspension with a panhard rod and wheelie bars. The Plymouth is painted blazing red from the fiberglass front hood and fenders to the trunk and rear stabilizer. The factory grille, door handles and trim spears hold onto original Plymouth good looks, and steel bumpers were reproduced in lightweight fiberglass. Quarter-turn Dzus fittings make for quick removal of the scooped hood and entire front bodywork. Red-painted roll bars surround a single black bucket seat with a Stroud SFI racing harness in the cockpit. The Belvedere waits for its next pilot to grab the Grant GT steering wheel, hook up the Weld Racing Prostar drag wheels and Goodyear Eagle slicks out of the box and pull the chute out on the top end.
