I'm selling my odd and unusual Chevy X-11 with original 4-speed and Iron Duke engine. Car is located85 miles east of Chicago, near I-80 and I-94.
Not much rust, just a cracked windshield and a well worn paint job (especially the black trim areas). Fortunately the original X-11 cowl induction hood, and front/rear spoilers are all in good shape. The damage to the front corner is very minor. I have the headlight bezel, but the plastic headlight mount and side lamp are broken. I removed what was left of the small flat panel behind the bumper so the original mounting hardware wouldn't be lost. The panel itself can be easily be fabricated.
The car sometimes struggles to maintain idle, especially when cold, but otherwise runs and drives normally. All fluids are fresh and clean. Clutch and trans feel good, and the shifter is smooth and precise. Brakes and power steering also feel good. If you plan on driving the car a long distance home, I highly recommendnew tires, the ones on it are very old. There's a new set of 13" whitewalls available locally for $300, which I'd be glad to have put on for you. I didn't buy them thinking the next owner might want to go to bigger wheels.
This car was rescued from a 15 year old boy who inherited it, then tore the dashboard apart trying to install a modern radio and speakers. I have the original vertical-bar AM/FM radio (see picture 20), but he did something that disabled the dash lights, gas gauge, and horn. It's probably minor stuff, but I'm no electrician. The wipers, and all exterior lights and signals still work properly.
I will help the buyer any way I can, storing or helping to load the car, picking someone up at the train station, airport, etc. Just let me know.-Thanks for looking.
Seller added:Attention, the VIN number listed above is incorrect. The actual VIN is 1G1AX08R6CT152332. I can provide a Carfax report on request. It shows no floods, rebuilds, liens, or other title problems. Even the minor accident isn't mentioned. The title is clean, and in my name. Sorry for the confusion. Using the pre-loaded caused the mistake.
