Car description

1969 International Scout 800

Rare "V" Model

Up for sale is this very cool and ultra rare Scout 800 "V" model. All of you true Binder enthusiasts know that the "V" designates V8 and is the most desirable and hardest to find. Most 800's out there are the 4cyl versions and although the are cute and fun, hey are severely underpowered and hard to even drive on thehighway. These V8 models are the trail rig that the Bronco's and Jeeps wish were never produced. They are the original 4x4 and the tops comes off to make a cool convertible! This particular Scout was a daily driver from the previous owner. It has a very stout 304 V8 that runs awesome without any strange noises, moke or leaks. All new fluids, new dual exhaust system, as new rear shocks, as a new battery and has the original 4x4 running gear that works great. The stance is awesome and aggressivewith 33x12.5x15 all terrains (not new but plenty of tread left) mounted on aluminum rims. It has a very rare, eriod correct, vintage Warn winch model 5687 mounted up front and also have a spare grill assembly if the new owner wishes to remove the winch. The interior is in great shape, he original front bucket seats have seat covers on them and will need to be recovered eventually. The dash pad is a solid 9 out of 10. All electrical is in working order including the fuel gauge (bonus)! I have the original and rare back seat that goes along with the sale. These are extremely hard to find and very expensive...it will need to be recovered as well but its complete! The exterior white paint is not fresh by any means and definitely shows it age and it's not a show vehicle with shiny paint....it's a vintage SUV. There is no visible rust anywhere and the frame rails are straight/true with no evidence of ever being in a wreck The rear quarters have some evidence of some creative filler in them but think it must have been 4wheeling dentsfrom many years ago. No rust bubbles can be seen like you typically see on these Scouts. Normally the rockers, owl, ender lips and tailgate are totally rusted out but not on this one! The only things I would correct if I was too keep is replace the windshield. Its cracked but these are flat and can be easily cut. I think I would replace the clutch as well but it might just need an adjustment. It shifts and drives fine but think the clutch is worn and has age. I would throw on new brake shoes too but all of these things would be addressed in a restoration anyways but if you wanted to drive and restore later, ou could easily do that with this rig. Fully restored, hese V8 models pull $20k plus all day long. This is a great buy for under $10k especially when the4cyl models are pulling that right now. Happy Bidding and good luck.

Hagerty Insurance said this about International in 2013: "International Scout SUV's are up by 85% and that these SUV's are going to be the next big thing"
