1986 GMC Sierra restoration and Fall Guy conversion
You cannot drive this truck to a car show or even down the highway without people giving it praise! EVERYONE remembers the Fall Guy. Stop at a gas station and gets tons of attention. Crowds of people at a car show and thumbs up and horns honking on the highway!
This beautiful truck started life as a Chevy K2500 camper special. One prior owner survivor truck! Garage kept, low miles and ALL stock until the conversion was done. Originally brown and tan two tone in color. Original options included AC, AM/FM cassette radio, power windows, power door locks, tilt column, 4.10 gears and turbo 400 automatic transmission.
The truck received a full service and compression testing. New plugs and ALL new fluids, trans, diffs, coolant flush and refill, oil, EVERYTHING. New ac components and professionally pressure tested and charged with fresh r134aa. Blows VERY cold.
Next a 4" lift was applied which is the same height used on the original show trucks, heavy duty version knowing we were adding some weight to the front later on and needed to clear oversized tires. Also due to the added weight new brakes were done on the truck and it stops very well!
16" Fall Guy replica wheels wrapped in the current version of the Fall Guy Dick Cepek Fun Country tires in 35x12.50 were bolted up and look and drive amazingly well with very little road noise. With the 4.10 gears and strong 350 it gets going better than many NEW trucks!
The interior was freshened with replacement parts for anything missing/broken but it's mostly original GM quality! Everything works. We added a set of heavy duty Husky mats to protect the clean carpet. New window rubber added as well as door seals so they open and close like new. A new Cobra classic CB was installed and is functional.
We color matched the side stripe to the Fall Guy truck which is GM paint code WA7739, gold. Added the roll bar and lights. Had the winch mount and grille guard custom made to the dimensions from the original trucks, and a brand new Warn VR8000 winch installed, fully functioning. A 102" whip antenna on a classic ball mount added as well. GMC emblems applied. The final step was to contact a vinyl company to custom make the Fall Guy logo to apply to the hood! Pictures don't do this thing justice at all...looks amazing and drives like it came off the showroom floor.
This is a truck Colt Seavers himself would mistake for the ACTUAL Fall Guy truck!
(Note: the undercarriage photos were taken 2 weeks before the conversion/restoration began 3 months ago, this is current condition minus a change in suspension...mostly original)
