Car description

I present to you this beautiful red/black 1972 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Fastback (VIN No. : 2F05H231740) with working factory installed Ram Air Hood (1 of only 1. 77 built with this option). 351 Cleveland engine. V-8. 3. 25 Rear; Power brakes. Steering. A/C and FMX Cruise-O-Matic Automatic Transmission. Mileage is an accurate and true 86. 09. This was a Florida car until I purchased it in November 2010 and had it professionally delivered (not driven) to New York. Since then it has remained in my garage and protected from the elements. except when being driven or being worked on by my professional restoration team. Vintage Automotive in Long Island. New York. This beauty comes fully certified. newly inspected by a mechanic and with a full deluxe Marti Report. This vehicle has no scratches. dents and has NEVER been in an accident of any kind. It has original matching engine. transmission and read end numbers. A true matching numbers car with the famed factory built 351 Cleveland engine The engine has not been altered with cam or headers and has never been removed from the car. This vehicle has been extensively restored so that it is beautiful. powerful and reliable for either a show car or daily driver. if you choose. Detailed below is the extensive work that has been done on this Mach I Fastback. It is not a perfect car. as it is 41 years old. but it is damn near close. Right up front. the issues are minor and just ones I have not had the time to tend to. The air conditioning works. but needs freon. The gauge for the gas needs adjustment to work properly and the middle console has several cracks that can be repaired or even replaced. A new middle console is easy to install and runs around $375. 00. If I was keeping the car. I would replace this. The one there now is the only part of this car that shows age and wear. Everything else is excellent. A lot of time. love and money has been invested into making this car an amazing machine and a real head turner. The rumble of the engine. the beautiful outline of this straight as an arrow car. chassis and exterior are excellent and makes it a muscle car ready to enter any car show and drop mouths. The Engine runs strong and excellent. the transmission shifts beautifully clean. The car was painted in 2008 in Sikens 2 stage paint. all the outside trim. lights. bumpers and seal were removed. then all new seals installed when finished. New rear-view mirror and age authentic gas cap were put on the car. but the originals are boxed up for you to have. The paint and seal work was done in 2008 by a high dollar restoration shop in Florida to the tune of $6. 00. 00. More than three times that amount of money was put into making this car near perfect by me when I acquired it in November of 2010. This vehicle is a Florida car and has never seen snow or rain. It is a solid. rust free. bondo free car that is solid inside out and with an underneath you could eat off of. Here is some history for this baby. It was sold new on August 19. 1972. This Mach 1 Mustang was built one day ahead of schedule on July 13. 1972. The car was sold new to a Mr. J. Hyler from Luke Bolton Ford in Plantation. Florida. The second owner of the car was Mr. J. L. Johnson. who also was a Floridian. Both men were older gentlemen who were Ford Mustang enthusiasts. Mr. J. L. Johnson in 2008 asked his younger friend. an auto/tech savvy gentleman named Manny Bustillo. also from Miami Florida. to help sell the vehicle. Manny held onto the car and helped complete the 2008 restoration. After almost 2 years of meticulous and detailed work. I bought the car from Manny through an Internet sale. I am the third owner of the vehicle. as Mr. Bustillo brokered the sale. but was not a titled owner. Until the vehicle came to me in New York. it spent its whole life in warm and sunny Florida. Since coming to New York it has been garage kept and has never seen snow. sleet. rain or any other the other elements native to the Northeast. When the car was sent to me via covered carrier in Long Island. New York in late 2010. I fell in love. For the past few years I have driven the vehicle sparingly and invested more money than I care to admit into making this car perfect and one I could use daily if I wanted to. Unfortunately. long work hours as a lawyer and 3 children. made the "daily driver" dream just that. a dream. The car was completed and look and rides gorgeous. It can easily be a daily driver or show car. The only problem is. it has seen my garage far more than the road. With 16 year old twins starting to apply to college. it is time for me to readjust my priorities and put the checkbook away. After spending several years and over $15. 00. 00 in replacing and repairing ever possible part and ball bearing to make this 41 year old car as safe as the day it came out of the showroom. it is with great sadness that I am putting it up for sale. This car. since the day I entered High School was my dream car. A 1972 Mustang Mach I Fastback. red with black stripes. I had the dream long enough to have lots of great memories. but not enough to make it worth keeping. The car deserves a loving home and more than seeing the inside of my 2 car garage where it takes up 2 spaces as I will not let another car near it! Yeah. I’m THAT guy. This car has been cleaned. loved. babied. washed and run ever couple of weeks. It is a low milage car with only 87. 00 true miles on the odometer. My expert mechanic confirmed that for me when I bought it by getting over. under and inside every nook and cranny of this car. The body is straight as an arrow. Look at the side pictures and you will see that. The paint is excellent. I would say on a scale of 1-10 the pain is a 9. 5. There are a couple of small areas that could use a touch up. but from the pics and seeing the car in person. you would really have to look the car over to find the couple of small paint imperfections. which came with the car. I assume the hot Miami sun caused a small paint ripple on the passenger side front wheel panel. Again. it is not noticeable unless you step right up to it and it is a quarter sized repaint/repair that can easily be made with little cost. I have a can of the original paint used in the 2008 paint restoration that will come with the car. The restoration I have done has been the real heavy lifting. financially speaking. The magnum wheels and tires have been cleaned and powder coated. No expense spared. The tires are new with less than 1. 00 miles on them. The rims are perfect and cost thousands of dollars to send out and have professionally done. Even the calipers are painted red to give it a sportier effect. The panels are perfect on the car. This car has never been in an accident and has no rust. It is clean throughout. The carpet is all original and no patches. The seats are original and look great. The dash is clean with no visible cracks. The back seats look new. No rips. scratches or tears to the interior. I did put in some new. Ford Mustang floor matts which are aftermarket and very well done. They cost me $140. 00 and will come with the car. I put them in to protect the underlying original carpet. The chrome and trim is all original. It is not perfect. but shines beautifully and I would say is about a 9. 6 out of 10. It looks beautiful. All interior and exterior lights work. Dash lights at night are a little low. but I understand from many professionals I am just used to the extra bright lights of my 2014 Mercedes SUV. The car starts right up. The battery is new and so is the alternator and starter. All were replaced a couple of months ago. The engine bay was painted and looks beautiful. with all original decals and stickers from Ford in place. Everything was done using factory coded paint. right down to the nuts and bolts. All the lines and tubing has been replaced throughout the car. so no stains or drips from this baby. She is airtight which is saying a lot. Many of my friends with muscle cars from the 70's have lots of drips from different areas. It is common in these cars- not just Mustangs. but Camaros. Firebirds. Chevelles. etc. However. this car is basically airtight. When I first acquired this beast. it was sent to a client of mine who has his own repair shop. He bartered legal services for repairs and did what would have cost about $6. 00. 00 worth of work on the car for me. He replaced the wheel ball joints. control arms. idler arms. power steering. new compressor. new thermostat and gaskets. New Speedo cable. new motor and transmission mounts. volt regulator. new fuel lines. new washer bottle. new bum per mountings. new dome light bulb and switch. new dash lights. new turn signal kit. new power steering pitman arm. door panel clips to tighten the door panels up to the body. new seat brackets and the seat was moved back slightly as I am 6'3" and much more. That is just a taste of the detail. Over the 2-3 years that followed. I had a professional restoration shop called Vintage American Parts & Restoration do a whole lot more. Vintage put brand new hood locks. new wheel cylinders. new air filters. oil filters. 3 oil changes to clean out engine using Lucas synthetic oil to coat and lubricate engine. new battery cables. new antenna. powder coat wheels and drums. tire balancing and alignment. new brakes complete with new drums and brake lines and fittings. new thermostat gasket. new belts throughout engine. new temp sensor. new hoses throughout car and hose clamps. Front Axel rebuilt. new water pump and new fuel pump. new radiator to remove all contaminants and years of clogging materials (was going to rebuild. but went new). new alternator. new heating core. new spark plugs. new NASCAR edition battery. Motorcraft wires. painting of engine and firewall 2 times. pressurized system. dryline leak repair. Installation of steering column tach. Installation of battery disconnect switch to turn off battery when car will not be used for long periods of time. new suspension. new carburetor. and much more! Over $12. 00. 00 was placed into countless hours of work to replace and clamp hoses. replace wiring on the circuit board. and clean out from the inside out the entire engine. I gave them a blank check basically and said I want this car to run anytime I take it out without fear of a breakdown. I am not a mechanic and I want this car in essence. showroom new and reliable. Considering I bought this 1972 Ford Mustang Mach 1 for $20. 00. 00 and put $18. 00. 00 plus into it. the sale price of $28. 00. 00 is truly a bargain and meant for a quick and clean sale. I was going to list this beauty at $33. 00. 00. but I am not one to want to see this sale drag on. It is hard enough parting with the dream car of mine. so I am keeping it "real" and very much obtainable! Serious buyers only. Payment of $500. 00 in good faith must be made via Paypal with 24 hours of purchase. Remainder must be paid within seven (7) days. I will assist in helping you find a transport company and even bring the vehicle to the company drop-off point if it is within 15 miles of my location in the 11725 area code. but the cost of the transport to your location is your cost. of course. This beautiful vehicle is the Mach I you have been looking for all your life. It is not a $12. 00. 00 car than needs all the work. It is more like the $50. 00. 00 car that has had 99% of the work completed. All you need to do is get in. turn the key and have some fun! Any questions can be answered by e-mailing me at tjzhere27@aol. com or calling me via my cell phone at 631-704-6284. This vehicle has only been driven by myself (and adult 47 year old attorney) and I am a non-smoker. There is no ashtray in the vehicle. The radio is the authentic AM/FM radio from the factory. It looks great. but of course sounds nothing like today sound systems. No extra speakers have been installed. No cut outs or fuzzy dice on this vehicle. It has been left in authentic. original condition. which it looks beautiful in. Why mess with perfection? As a note. since it is over 20 years old. it is (at least in New York) considered "Historical" and has historical license plates. The great thing about a car like this is the auto insurance is very. very low. I have it fully insured for $168. 00 every 6 months. I’m sure it would be cheaper even if I went through one of the specialty historical insurers. but I never got around to checking. Just wanted to put it out there that the vehicle is not expensive to insure. One last note. the vehicle just past a full 90 minute thorough New York State Inspection at a local Firestone shop and has a new inspection sticker on it. I had them look it over before listing it to make sure there was no concerns that needed to be addressed. The car as the mechanic said is "Good to go!" The vehicle has clear title in my name alone. Serious bidders only! Enjoy the pictures and good luck!
