1971 Torino Cobra, one of only 3,054 1971Cobra's built. Painted in original Grabber Green Metallic paint which is a one year only color for the Torino making this a fairly rare combination. Factory shaker hood and louvers. Black bucketseat interior with console and factory tach. Originally an M code 351C 4 speed car, now with built 429 and C6 automatic. Power steering, power disc brakes and 15" Magnum 500 wheels. 71 Cobra's are typically considered more desirable than 70's due to the rarity, the improved hood treatment, the blacked out taillight panels and the grill snake which really gives the front end a great look.

The paint on the Cobra is basecoat/clearcoat and looks good. It is driver quality, is not a show car and has minor imperfections here and there but overall looks nice. The edge between the black and green on the hood is not as crisp asit could be in some sections which can be seen when closely inspected. The body line over the left rear wheel wasn't finished perfectly and it is also noticeable when you lookclosely.Norust or rust bubbles. The underside is very clean and solid with originalfloors that have never been undercoated. The only metal replacement has been a left rear lower quarter and trunk dropoff. Chrome is in good shape with some age showing on door top chrome. It could use some new weatherstripping and seals. The Cobra grill isoriginal and in very nice shape with mounting tabs in place. It has the correct grill and taillight panel Cobra emblems.

The interior is in good shape with nice bucket seats, correct Cobra door panels with no speaker holes, nice headliner etc. The carpet has a little fading. The console base looks nice and is not broken like most. Dash has a cap that lookslike factory. The console top plate has a few imperfections. It has an aftermarket stereo installed with speakers in the rear package tray and nice aftermarket Autometer gauges mounted below the dash

The car was drag raced at some point in the past and it still retains a built 429. It has a lumpy cam, sounds good and runs strong. It has ceramic coated Hooker headers, Edelbrock intake and Holley carb. It has some very nice Cobra aluminumvalve covers. It has a 3,000 stall converter and a mild shift kit in the C6 trans. Currently has 3.00 gears so it is pretty nice on the highway but still to go pretty good. It had ladders bars installed when I purchased it, I have removed them to soften upthe ride but the brackets are still mounted to the car and I will include the bars with the sale. Suspension and steering are good and the car drives pretty well. The front brakes do occasionally have a vibration when coming to a stop and the rotors shouldprobably be turned or worst case is replaced which is only about $30 each atRockauto.com. I've been meaning to do that just haven't had the time. There is a vacuum canister on the car to help with the low vacuum due to the big cam. Brakes can be a littlehard when idling due to the low vacuum. When driving normally they seem fine. It's been driven this way for many years but you could install a vacuum pump if you don't want to every have that issue. Lights, signals, heater all work. Wipers work but don't wantto park but who will every use them anyway? Factory tach also does not work.

Overall this is a well optioned, solid and nice looking Cobra Torino that is ready to drive and enjoy. It is not a show car and has flaws but looks great to the casual observer. It gets lots of thumbs up and compliments.
