1965 Ford F600, 15,000 Original Miles,12 Valve Cummins, Near Excellent Condition

This is one truck you do not want to miss out on. This truck has a great Idaho history. It was purchased new by Owyhee County, Idaho as a Fire Truck back in the 60's, where it was used as such until it was retired about a decade ago. (This is why the truck only has 15,000 original miles). It was very well cared for as is evident by the condition. Once purchased from Owyhee County, the 2,000 gallon tank and bed for storage of the hose was removed and a custom flatbed was built. At that time, the original motor and transmission were removed and replaced with a low mileage 1995 Dodge 12 Valve Cummins Motor and Automatic Transmission, there were about 110,000 on them. The truck was purposely built to drive in parades and to local hot rod shows, so very few miles were put on it.
I bought the truck in its current state and it is a kick to drive. Tires are basically new, motor is super strong and the transmission is tight. It also has an overdrive button on the dash which will get you a top speed of 50-55 mph. It drives like an old truck, no power steering, brakes work great. It could be used as a daily driver. Starts right up every time and is reliable.
The interior is really nice and clean. The seat was reupholstered. The only gauge that works somewhat funky is the Fuel Gauge, all others work as they should. The switches for the Firetruck lights were left in the dash. Custom exhaust was added to the truck for a really cool look. Runs and drives like a dream. If you are looking for a clean, no rust, solid truck to either drive as is or convert to a hauler, this is it. You will not find a cleaner, original truck with the right power under the hood than this one. Good luck!!
