Car description |
---|
Offered for sale for the first time in 15 years is this stunning 1940 Ford opera coupe. All the allure of a classic restoration with updated power- I bought the car as an antique already restored to a lovely standard with a flathead V8, and then had installed a built small block Chevrolet.
This '40 coupe body is solid and lovely- photos provided show the lower body, doors, drip rails, lower rear trunk pan, and some photos of the car on a lift. Numerous other photos are available and I'm happy to take any other photos you'd like. The body is all steel except for a pair of excellent fiberglass front fenders. Outstanding paint with only minor imperfections consistent with careful use over the years, and all so small as to be difficult to photograph. Door, hood, fender and window trim all fit as you would expect in a car built with an eye to detail.
Inside the interior is restored with the correct opera type opposing folding seats in the rear, original rubber mats, and shows throughout to be fresh save for one tiny tear in the back of the bench seat- a photograph shows this small imperfection.
The suspension and driveline is all correct 1940 Ford. It has original type restored brakes, steering, and driveline- with the addition of the 350 engine, air conditioning, upgraded cooling and modern white wall Radial tires, the '40 runs drives great. Cold starts are a dream and the car regularly makes all-day cruises. Drive anywhere, show proudly.
Please see the attached photos documenting the car and let me know if you would like additional photos of any area. As good as photos and video are, there is no replacement for seeing any vintage car yourself, or having it inspected.
Call any time to discuss the car and arrange to see and drive it- I encourage this in the strongest terms.
Because of the proliferation of scams, I am asking for all inquiries via telephone or initially through ebay contact seller standard methods. I will not reply to initial text inquiries, but am happy to send photos and videos after we have spoken. Thank you for understanding. This car is sold with a clean, clear, Tennessee title, in "As-Is" condition. Private sale. Please phone 423- two-four-zero- 86 eight-one before 10 pm to discuss the car.
