Car description

Another Deputy Dee Auction.

Relisted due to non paying bidder.

This auction is for a one ton US Post Office Department Truck on a 1931 Ford AA chassis. An extra body, ome extra body parts, nd some extra Ford '31 AA truck parts are included. I believe (but do NOT guarantee) there are almost enough parts to build a complete truck with enough spare parts for part of a second body. .

THE TRUCK:

This truck was purchased in Delaware. The person I bought it from gave me the following information:

"The truck was originally used in the Philadelphia area. The Post Office sold the truck to a farmer who cut the body off at the belt rail to use as a hay wagon".

Most of the parts he cut off were saved and are included in the back of the truck. The body parts are shown in photos 6, nd 7.

I have only one cargo door latch that hods the door open or closed. Looks like it would be an easy piece to copy. It is on the body right side of cargo door as you look at it. The only windshield parts I have are the windshield that is on the truck.

Parts included but not in the photos are a cargo compartment door, frame for the poster that goes on the side, nd some parts for the roll up canvas weather screen on the back doors. Original poster frames are hard to find. I have only one, ut it is original, sable and can be used as a pattern for any addition frames you might need

Some of the included parts are shown in photos 8 and 9.

The truck was running when I parked it several years ago. I have a clear New Mexico Title in my name.

.I might still have a spare radiator '31 Ford AA and the stainless cowl trim. If I find them they will be included.

The tire with US MAIL on it is NOT usable but is included as an item of interest for your garage.

THE BODY:

The body came from Colorado. Body photos are 9, 0, nd 11. Some parts for the front and some of the tailgate parts are shown in photo10. The right rear screened door is in the back of the body.

I DO NOT have parts for a front window (windshield) for this body. Most of the missing windshield parts can be copied from the window on the truck.

The frame the body is on is included. The front axle on this frame is bent, he spring is disconnected on the left side, nd I do NOT have a tie rod for it.

FOR CLARIFICATION

The truck on the right (in the first photo) is part of the auction and includes the parts that the farmer cut off and saved (I don't believe these parts will quite make a complete body). Those parts are in the back of the truck.

The body on the left (in the first photo) is also part of the auction and includes the frame it is on. The parts that were on the floor in the photos are included and are now loaded in the back of the body.

There should be enough parts (but not guaranteed) between the truck and body to complete one truck with a lot of parts left over - maybe enough to get a good start on a second truck.

I DO NOT have any parts for a second front window (windshield).
