Car description

For sale is a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T. I have owned since 1997. Car is an original RT 383 automatic. The paint code says the car was originally White exterior with a Red interior. I bought the car in May of 97. over the next year and 2 months I Rebuilt and restored the car. Now it has a 460 HP(approx. ) 440. And It has a A833 4 speed. BODYWhen I got the car it was Sublime Green with Black interior. It needed and I installedTrunk Floor boardsTrunk Floor extendersFloor pans Left and RightDeck LidAll were welded in using 3M weldable primer. The whole car was sandblasted(even underside and inside). Body filler was applied where needed Urethane Primer. and a bare metal etching primer was used. Plum Crazy Purple Base Clear was applied. It was wet sanded and buffed to a smooth finish. The body work on the car is straight. INTERIORNew HeadlinerNew carpetNew front seat coversRefurbished cover on back of seats. New wiring harness in the engine compartment and trunk Used interior wiring harness from another Challenger was installed. Tach does move but I didn't trust the reading so I installed the aftermarket tach. Crack in Dash was fixed( but since cracked again)Back seat was in good shape but now it needs reupholstered. Body gasket kitWeather Stripping all around car. Engine Compartment heat shieldNew Stickers and emblems all around carTo many parts to list. A car this old has everything looking sun baked and old. SUSPENSIONIT hasNew upper and lower ball jointsAll Tie rod ends and pitman arm. Leaf Springs and hardwarePinion SnubberOther miscellaneous partsDRIVETRAINThe car did not come with an engine when I purchased it. It originally had a 383 but I knew that a 440 would be inexpensive power. So I searched for and found a 440. From the casting numbers it appears to be a 70 block. It has no vin number stamped in it. It was bored . 060 over with Keith Black Pistons. The Crank is a forged turned . 010 . 010. The heads are 906 casting rebuilt with new valves and valve springs. Bronze valve stem liners were used. It has a Mopar 484 Purple Shaft Cam. The engine was balanced. A Edelbrock Torker intake was installed. A Mopar Electronic distributor was installed for a trouble free system. A new Holly 750 CFM cab was installed and has run the car good ever since. The engine has high compression and I am running E85 in it and it runs good. I did get a automatic transmission with the car. It was rebuilt at the time. I don't believe it is the original. I had the auto in the car for the first 2 years then decided it would be fun to have a 4 speed. I found a 4speed out of a Roadrunner and rebuilt it. A Center Force clutch was also installed. The rear axle was rebuilt. From the factory the car had 3. 91 rear gears. To get the tires to transfer more power to the pavement I installed 3. 55 Gears. Green axle bearings were used to save you time in the future. The center section was rebuilt with new bearings and the limited slip also freshened up. Years after this I decided I needed to stop better. It was time to convert the front to disc brakes. The correct spindles were located and new Calipers and lines and pads installed. It stops much better now. You will thank me for this if you buy this car. I took the front fenders off for this and I did not realign them after. The car has been fun to have for the past 18 years. After 18 years is has a few minor chips and problems in paint. It has a little door ding in the drivers door. Having said that it is still in good shape in my opinion. I have a lot of money spent on this car and I have all receipts . except for components that were purchased at car swap meets This Car is one that you can get right in and drive as I am selling it I took it go the drag strip and the best i did was 13. 1 at 107 mph I have spare parts that could go with the car. A deal could be reached after sold. (automatic transmission. nbsp; Steel bellhousing original 3. 91 gears and a lot of mis parts. Any Questions please Text or call 1-608-732-7724. My name is Aaron.
