Car description

If you are a collector of unique and hard to find Mopar muscle cars, you will want to take a very close look at this beautiful little jewel!
‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is very happy to offer you this super-rare, all numbers-matching, heavily documented, and beautifully restored 1974 Dodge Dart Sport 360 'Hang 10'. How many of these bad boys have you seen around lately? There are many Mopar fanatics, and even some aficionados, who have no idea about the (A63) ‘Hang 10’ package, which was only offered in 1974-1975. There were approximately 700 examples produced in 1974 and early 1975, and a huge majority of them came w/ the smaller 225ci Slant-Six or 318ci motors. Only (47) Dodge Dart Sport ‘Hang 10’ cars were built w/ the 360ci High-Performance engine option in 1974. This super-cool package simply screams ‘1970’s’, w/ wild surfer-style designs which include: special red & blue 'Hang 10' stripes, surf-graphics throughout, a multi-color surfer-style interior, and the fold-down “Convertriple” rear seat arrangement for the 'Hang 10' Surf Board (included), etc.
This 1974 Dodge Dart Sport 360 'Hang 10' was sold new @ Crestview Chrysler Dodge Ltd. in Regina Saskatchewan, Canada, to a Mr. Gary Linnen. Thankfully, Mr. Linnen had the foresight to keep nearly every single piece of original documentation from day one, which really sets this car apart. This Dart Sport 360 ‘Hang 10’ car is a 1 of 1 optioned as such according to the GTS Registry (Galen Govier). Factory options include: (E58) 360ci 4V High-Performance Engine, (D34) Torqueflite Automatic Transmission, (A63) Hang Ten Package, (B41) Power Front Disc Brakes, (C16) Console, (C56) Front Bucket Seats, (C73) Fold Down Rear Seat, (G11) Tinted Glass – All Windows, (G52) Outside Mirror LH Remote Chromed, (J94) Instrument Cluster, (M21) Drip Rail Mouldings, (M26) Wheel Lip Mouldings, (M81) Front Bumper Guards, (N41) Dual Exhaust, (N76) Coolant Recovery System, (R11) Music Master AM Radio, (S13) Heavy-Duty Suspension, (S42) Front Sway Bar, (S77) Power Steering, (W21) Rallye Wheels, (26) 26” Radiator, and (C) Built For Canada Specifications. The (A63) Hang Ten Package consists of (EW1) Eggshell White Exterior, (K2H) Tape Stripes for Body Side, Hood, Hood Closure Panel, & Front Fenders, (J6VW) White Vinyl Bucket Seats w/ White Door Panels & Quarter Trim Panels w/ Multi-Colored Woven Vinyl Inserts, (C16) White Console w/ Orange Top Treatment & Orange Shag Carpeting on the sides, Orange Instrument Panel & Glove Box Appliques w/ Simulated Wood-Grained Instrument Cluster Trim, and Orange Shag Carpets including Rear-Seat Back, Kick-Up & Security Panel. Per Galen’s GTS Registry, this car is #4 of 5 in VIN sequence of all 1974 Dodge Dart Sport 360 2-Door Coupes built for Canada. It is car #11 in the 'Hang Ten' Dart Registry, which states that there are only (23) of these cars known to exist, w/ only (3) examples w/ the factory-equipped 360ci HP engine option.
This gorgeous example has been beautifully restored throughout, retaining its original sheet metal, as well as its all numbers-matching driveline. The Eggshell White paint is simply gorgeous w/ a lustrous shine throughout, and all of the ‘Hang 10’ striping is perfect. All of the chrome & stainless trim is excellent condition as well. She sits on the original 14” Rallye Wheels, wrapped w/ new Goodyear E70-14 Polyglas tires, just like she did 46 years ago.
Open the driver’s door and you will find a beautiful ‘Hang 10’ interior, that is a combination of ‘mint original’ and newly restored items. Like the exterior, the interior is in ‘excellent’ condition, and it really brings you back to an exciting era of American car manufacturing. The surfer motif is apparent everywhere you look, and the wild colors will make your eyes pop! All of the original gauges, lights, blinkers, etc. are in perfect working order, and everything appears factory correct throughout. The folding rear-seat allows you to carry the ‘Hang 10’ surfboard, which is included in the sale.
Pop open the hood and nestled inside the beautifully detailed engine bay you will find the original numbers-matching 360ci High-Performance motor, lathered in the correct blue paint, and topped off w/ the original bright orange “360’ 4-Barrel air cleaner. No aftermarket modifications were ever done to this car, and all components appear to be factory correct, from the original Carter carburetor, original exhaust manifolds, original Electronic Ignition, down to the (F23) Mopar yellow-cap battery. The original 360 HP motor is linked to the original numbers-matching Torqueflite automatic transmission, which feeds power to the original 8.25” rear-end w/ 2.91 gears (Canada Only). The motor & transmission were fully rebuilt to factory specs at the time of the restoration. She fires up instantly, settling into a nice smooth idle, and she runs, drives & performs beautifully. The factory power steering & factory power front disc brakes make driving around town effortless, and the 360ci HP motor delivers when it’s time to scoot! Again, for those of you who love a plethora of original paperwork, this car is heavily documented, including: factory original Build Sheet, original owner's manual & supplements, original Chrysler Warranty paperwork, original Chrysler Consumer Information sheet, original Assembly Line Inspection sheet, original sales documents, original registration slips, original 1974 Dodge Accessory booklets, original Dodge dealer brochures, original Dart ‘Hang 10’ promotional photos, original ‘Hang 10’ Registry verification paperwork for this car, as well as verification sheets for every 'Hang 10' car known to exist, original Dart ‘Hang 10’ magazine advertisements & articles, a thick docket of restoration receipts, original 'Hang 10' research articles, Galen Govier Registry paperwork, letters between the original owner & the Chrysler Historical Foundation, and on and on! You'll notice that the original fender tag is present and in place as it should be.
This is a very special classic car that checks all of the boxes when it comes to collectability. When you consider the overall rarity, the all numbers-matching driveline, the massive amount of original documentation, and the amazing condition of the car itself, you would be very hard pressed to find another example that compares. If you are searching for a Mopar A-Body that will separate you from all of the others out there, you have found your car!
