The Lil Red Express truck was produced for only 2 years, 1978 & 1979. In 1978 it was the fastest American made vehicle from 0 to 100 mph as tested by Car and Driver magazine. There were 5,118 units produced in 1979.They come with a special high performance 360 C.I. 4-barrel engine (code EH1) which was a modified version of the 360 police engine. The Express package also included Hemi style mufflers with a crossover pipe breathing through 2 chrome stacks located behind the cab. A special 727 automatic transmission and 3.55:1 limited slip rear. The previous owner completed a full body-off restoration in 2007. It has been driven just over 10,000 miles since it'srestoration. Currently owned by the same owner since August of 2011. This is a very nice, well presented, highly detailed, all-around high performance driver. Thanks to power steering and power brakes with discs up front.
