Car description

Matching numbers 440 engine and automatic transmission 69 Dodge Charger R/T. Numbers on the core support and trunk area also match. I'm not sure if there are other stamped locations. I don't have the build sheet but I do have the fender tag. This is a very solid car but it does need some work. The paint is very nice but not perfect. The car was originally red and is now black. I usually win trophies when I take it to local shows. My plan was to work on the car after I retired. Now that I am retired, I no longer have the disposable income or the skills to do the work myself so it is time to let her go to a new home. I will list the issues that I am aware of below. There may be other issues that I don't know about so the car is being sold as is with no warranty. I believe that my reserve is reasonable and it will leave plenty of room for the new owner to complete the work without going in the hole, value wise. The car must be picked up no later than 7 days after the payment has been received.
First, I will list some of the recent work that was completed.
- Completed a front power disc brake conversion...Oh what a difference that made.- Installed a new high efficiency radiator (US Radiator) last fall along with a high flow water pump and high flow 160 degree T-stat to help keep her cool. Original 22" radiator will be included though it needs to be repaired.- Installed new front sway bar bushings last fall- Replaced the steering wheel with a refurbished wood grain wheel- Replaced under hood insulation and hood turn signal lights-Replaced the headlight door actuators and vacuum tank- Replaced fuel filler to tank grommet- Installed a new starter
All or most of the original parts will be included.
The issues that I am aware of are:
Oil pan gasket has a small leak. I believe that I have a new gasket. If so, it will be included.Oil gauge in cluster isn't working. I have a remote guage that isn't mounted because I didn't want to drill holes for a bracket.Cluster should be reworked. Many lights are out, gas gauge reads 3/4 when tank is full (may be sending unit) but the Tic Toc Tach works. The current cluster is not the original. I do have the original and it will be included. It also needs to be reworked. The headlight doors don't open or close normally. Actuators, tank and some lines have been replaced. Probably just a vacuum leak but that is a guess.Fuel lines need to be replaced. Currently, no vapor return line installed and final run of feed is copper tubing.Carb is not original (Edelbrock carb installed now). I don't have the original.Vinyl top has a 2" tear at top of the windshield on the driver's side.Original wiring should eventually be replaced.Rear of center console is crackedDriver's side door inside panel is loose and needs new clips and retainer. This door also needs the proper hinge to allow it to stay openParking brake does not workI believe that the rear window seal needs to be redone (rattles)The car was already painted prior to my purchase. They did not repaint the metal on the inside of the car.The only rust that I have found on the car is above the gas tank. When I dropped the tank to replace the grommet, I saw 2 spots of rust. One about the size of a quarter and the other a half dollar. Some sort of epoxy like coating was sprayed into the trunk by the previous owner. When making a full left turn, something is rubbing in the front end. The problem greatly improved but didn't disappear after I replaced the front sway bar bushings. The heat valve flapper in the passenger side exhaust manifold is wired in the open position because the valve needs to be replacedThe car is difficult to start if it sits for days to a week. I believe the missing vapor return and a more aggressive cam are the reasons but what do I know. The car runs well but I feel as though it may be getting a little tired. Maybe I am just comparing it to my hellcat. The car could use shocks.I don't have the original wheels, just the modern style.
I know that it sounds like a lot of items but I wanted to be thorough.
