Car description

This is also listed on the Wichita, KS C-list. I’d prefer to sell but the only trade I may consider would be a solid 1970 Charger roller with solid frame rails/structure.
This is a super solid 1968 Dodge Charger from Texas. The guy I bought it from had owned it since 1974. I planned to install a big block and then to sand/patina the paint on the edges/character lines and seal it with satin clear coat; but 2 weeks after I bought it, I came across a really cool 68 charger with amazing natural patina, which I bought. This Charger has its fender tag, which shows it came from the factory with R4 (331 paint code) paint and red/burgundy interior, 318 engine, and automatic transmission. The original drivetrain is long gone. It has a 383/auto in it but both are frozen. It has an 8.75 rearend housing. The differential (489 case) is a single track unit that is in the trunk. This car has manual steering and manual drum brakes. Since it was a Texas car and had factory undercoating, the cabin floor pans, front/rear frame rails, torsion bar crossmember, and trunk floor extensions/drop-offs are about as solid as you can find on an unrestored 68 Charger. The trunk floor has a few pinholes but is also remarkably solid and could be driven as is. The previous owner used black paint to paint the whole underside of the car, which helped do further seal the floor pans. The car received a cheap paint job in its original color in the early 80’s.The paint would beideal patina and drive, but if you want nice paint, you will need to repaint it. It has rust in both lower quarter panels behind the rear wheels. It also has rust in the lower quarter panel in front of the right wheel because a varmint had a made a big nest in that area. I removed the door panel and cleaned out the nest. I bought a new patch panel for that area, which is included. The rear Dutchman’s panel has filler in it; the right quarter panel also has filler in it over the wheel well. The rear window corners don’t look too bad. All the glass is there but the door glass, rear window, and windshield are out of the car. Most of the trim seems to be present; some is not on the car. The grille is in great condition. It comes with two driveshafts, it’s original radiator, and a tote full of odds and ends. The previous owner dyed the burgundy dash, arm rests, and some upper door pads black at some point. I was able to get most of the dye off a couple arm rest pads but stopped there. The fender tag matches the stampings on the radiator support and trunk gutter. The previous owner lost the title so I bought the charger without a title. I took it into the Kansas highway patrol for a crime history/theft inspection. The 50 state search came back without any theft/crime history but the Kansas highway patrol said it will need to go through a quiet title process to get a clear title. The Charger will be sold on a bill of sale.
