1972 Dodge B200Yamahauler
Here is your chance to build a tribute to one of the rarest motorcycle manufacturer's promotional vehicles in history. THIS IS NOT THE REAL YAMAHAULER. It is the perfect van to build as a tribute, as it is a VERY solid New Mexico vehicle (clear title in hand) and it's a real 1972. Hot Rod magazine covered the original build in their September-November issues. All of the information needed to build an EXACT duplicate to the Yamahauler, resides in those articles. I have done a lot of research on this vehicle and can tell you first hand, there's not a lot of information on it.
You are buying the van as it is. It doesn't run and as you can tell, needs complete restoration. The only rust in the driver's floor from leaking windshield wiper pivots (common), the rest of the van has no rust and in pretty darn good shape. The original B series seats are still in it, which are what the original builder, Tony Nancy, used to make the custom seats in the Yamahauler. It's hard to find a real 1972 Van with the same window and door layout as the Yamahauler, but this IS IT!!!!If you pick up the issues of Hot Rod that I mentioned, you will see the blueprint, exactly, as the van was built.
If you are interested in purchasing the van and having my shop, Graveyard Carz restore it to an exact Yamahauler tribute, I can do that. I have done all of the research. I want to build one for myself someday but right now, we're out of room and way too busy for personal projects. The cost to build the van would be 150K and would take 24-36 months to complete. The finished van would include a 1972 Yamaha 125 MX and Yamaha 125 Enduro, just like the original contest offered. Both bikes would be restored to new condition.
AGAIN-This auction is for the purchase of the VAN ONLY and in AS-IS condition.
