Car description

If you were watching this auction and wondered why it was ended my apologies. It was listed in the wrong category and therefor it was very difficult to find, you could`nt find it if you searched 'wagon' or '1973 Dodge wagon' for instance, very odd. But hopefully its fixed now!
Firstly, this wagon is all original and it is absolutely LOADED UP! And it is super straight and solid, and the only thing missing is the air breather. Original spare and jack are present. It is kind of unusual for a Dodge to be this loaded up but the old girl has the following options:
TILT WHEEL, CRUISE CONTROL, 6 WAY POWER DRIVERS SEAT, FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING (All in place and unmolested), POWER WINDOWS, POWER DOOR LOCKS, POWER TAIL GATE WINDOW, THIRD ROW SEAT, SEAT BELTS ON ALL SEATS, TINTED GLASS (All original and very good) ROOF RACK, REAR BUMPER STEPS, POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, REMOTE CONTROL DRIVERS DOOR MIRROR. I am sure i`m forgetting something here! It is also equipped with the 440 4 BARREL MOTOR AND 727 TORQUE FLITE. Not exactly sure what axle is under it but whatever it is it's original.
Secondly, this wagon is at our second home in Greenville South Carolina, ZIP 29609. Ebay would not let us change our address for just this one auction unless we changed the address for all our auctions. Soooo, the car is in South Carolina not Virginia. If you want a transport quote just ask as we know a guy who roams all over country delivering cars and so forth. He is reliable, honest and VERY reasonable.

This is a good solid Southern car that has spent all its life in Western North Carolina, and as such has VERY solid floors, floor braces, body panels, rockers and so forth. When we got the car it had sat on concrete inside a nice dry building since 1991, which is the year of the last inspection sticker on the windshield, so the old girl has been off the road more than she's been on it !! We took all the spark plugs out, which all looked really good, and shot light machine oil in all the cylinders and then left it sit 24 hours. The oil on the dip stick looked good and was up to level so we spun the engine over about 30 revolutions with no spark plugs in it to build up oil pressure. The big 440 engine spun over just as free as a bird. We then put new spark plugs in, undid the fuel inlet pipe and filled the carb up with Premium gas from a squirt bottle. She fired right up on the second revolution! The 440 sounds REALLY healthy and the trans drops into drive the very second you move the shifter, likewise with reverse. Obviously the old car does not have a stitch of brakes after sitting so long and is therefor undrivable but she sure does run good. One of the mufflers is totally shot so she sounds really loud. But apart from that there are no funny / bad noises and there was only a little smoke when she first fired up, only to be expected from the machine oil we put in all the cylinders. We don't know for absolute certain what the mileage is but the 105,972 on the speedo is almost certainly actual. There is NO sign of wear on the brake or gas pedal for instance, they are perfect. And absolutely no sag in any of the massively heavy doors.
There are a few, very few, spots of localized rust. All very minor and easily fixed. Namely a little at the bottom of each front fender which is absolutely typical and a tiny bit on the tail gate. The tail gate can swing open or lay down flat by the way, it's a crazy but very cool double action door. The passenger door mirror is cracked and there is a small dent in the left rear door. The electrics will need to be checked out for sure, remember that this old girl has been asleep for a very very long time. The power windows work but nothing happens when you hit the power seat switch or tail gate window. Likewise with the power door locks. There is a factory installed switch on the underside of the dash that reads REAR DOORS which we think is a really early type of child door lock, very cool. All the doors close with a massive 'clunk' like they should be on a bank vault not a car! Nothing like the tin can doors on modern cars. The hood, which is huge and probably has enough metal in it to make a whole Toyota, opens and closes like brand new. Everything under the hood is original and unmolested which is really nice to see. Its so rare to find something so original when you are talking about cars this old. The headliner is good for a pattern but will definitely need to be replaced along with the rugs, all of which are original. Floorboards are super solid under the rugs, as is the big tub the rear facing passengers feet fit down in. This really is a solid old car. And it does have its original keys.
If you are a serious buyer I am going to give you a direct way to talk 2 us, I hope LOL. Kinda in code but here goes. eight, sixand then four. Then `61 followed by seven. the last part is onefive then 9sixx.
We have lots more pictures so if you want a specific picture of anything at all just ask and we will get it to you.
Ebay insists you tick one of the boxes re the title situation. There is no title but I can get you a clear transferable registration. A lot of States did not use titles back in the day, they used a transferable registration. Many States here in the South did not go to titles until 1975. Titling in your State will not be a problem. The cost of this is $195 over and above whatever the car sells for. If you are an overseas buyer we can arrange shipping and all the relevant paperwork to go anywhere in the world no problem. Just ask.
The only forms of payment we will accept are CASH IN PERSON OR BANK WIRE TRANSFER. Absolutely NO other forms of payment will be accepted. A $250 deposit by PayPal at the end of the auction and the rest by CASH IN PERSON OR BANK WIRE TRANSFER within 7 days of the auctions end. We hope you can abide by these simple rules. Thanks, Elaine.
