This is about a 10 year old restoration. It is a 1968 Charger RT. 440 CID. automatic. as indicated by the VIN XS29L8G212416. I've owned the car for 14 years. The restoration work included a re-build of the front suspension bushings and ball joints. all brake shoes. cylinders. hoses. master cylinder. and vacuum booster. Replacement of the fuel tank. line. and sending unit. and I installed an electric pump. Replaced the door. trunk. and hood rubber. Re-built instrument cluster (including a Ticky-Tach). New headliner. front seat upholstery. carpet. New exhaust pipe and mufflers by Year One. Magnum wheels with Goodyear rubber. Engine work included a new cam. lifters. valves & springs. and the heads were ported. The car had a full race cam that wasn't conducive to street driving. I installed a Road Runner cam which is slightly more aggressive than the Charger specification. While the work was extensive. it is not a total frame-off restoration. We replaced the rear quarter panels and the trunk floor extensions. The body was undercoated when new and the frame and floor pans appear to be in excellent condition. however the underside looks like a car that has been driven and not one of painted pristine condition. We attempted to match the original blue paint. We replaced the white vinyl top with black. Paperwork includes the restoration parts receipts. most of an original Chrysler Service Manual. and the original Production Broadcast sheet. This is a good driver and has been a car show favorite.
