Car description

For sale: 1989 Chevy K2500 Truck. 4 wheel drive. 6. 2L naturally aspirated diesel. Clear title in hand. Purchased approximately four years ago from a dealer who bought it from a farm. Has a farm bumper/hitch set up for a pin to pull wagons. Easy to mount a ball hitch. 8600lb GVW 8-lug version. Modifications and work done:NV4500 4-speed transmission with creeper gear from 1995 6. 5L (with 60k miles) diesel installed 3000 miles ago. 8 remanufactured injectors ( from pensacoladiesel ) with zero miles on them. All new brake lines. front calipers. rear drum shoes/springs. reman alternator. Stock square fuel filter bypassed with spin-on 12 micron filter. Batteries and starter ~3 years old. Can corners replaced ~4 years ago. New 34 gallon diesel tank installed last fall. Has Advancedadaptor's bell housing that can accept a 6. 5L engine to the NV4500 without modification. Reman starter installed ~3 years ago. 35" tires at ~40% of tread. Plastic bed liner. No lift or upgraded suspension. Needs tail pipes replaced. Has rust as would be expected from a working Michigan truck. Rust is found under black trim on the wheel wells as well a on frame as would be expected from a working truck of this age. Has minor electrical issues. 4-wheel drive works well. Engine concerns:February of this year (maybe on that -24F night. ) the engine ran fine one day and very rough the next. After a compression and leak down tests cylinders 1 & 8 were found to have 160 & 200 psi of compression ( about 1/2 of what it should be ). All others 360 to 400 psi. Leak down test showed air escaping into crankcase which is likely caused by worn piston rings on 1 & 8. Blow-by is apparent when removing the oil cap. Engine turns over very quickly and starts right up. Idles and runs rough due to previously described issues. Expect to put a bit of tender-loving-care (TLC) into this truck to get the reliable workhorse back out. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. No shipping. Local pickup only. Immediate deposited of $300 via paypal. Cash. or paypal only for rest. Thanks for looking!
