PROSTREET 1970 CAMARO, 'BLOWN' 496 CHEVY, TURBO 400, 9" 4-LINK, EX. COND (video)

1970 ½ Chevrolet Camaro ProStreet in Candy Apple Red 2-stage urethane with metallic radiance added. The car is all steel except for the wing mounted on the trunk. There is a door ‘ding’ and a slight bubble where the side view mirror was mounted (see photos). The rust free car came from Arkansas and has NEVER been raced. It has been “back-halved” with a narrowed 9” Ford with 3.70 gears, posi-traction, 31-spline axles, and 4-link suspension with coil over shocks. Frame connectors are welded in to give the Camaro the needed stiffness for stability.

Powering the 70 ½ Camaro is a fuel injected and supercharged 496 cu. in. (bored and stroked 4-bolt main 427) Chevrolet Big Block which was rebuilt and has only been driven 300 miles. The compression ratio is 8 ½ to 1 and with the 671 supercharger under driven by 10% it runs on pump gas without any problems. Other components include, Brodex aluminum heads, electric water pump & fans, Griffin radiator, MSD ignition, hydraulic roller cam with Comp Cams roller rockers, and Hooker headers. The combination puts out an estimated 650 h.p. to the rear wheels.

Handling the shifting chores is a blueprinted Turbo 400 with a 2500 rpm stall convertor, Trans brake, and B&M shifter.

The interior uses two racing seats, custom aluminum dash with Autometer Tach, Fuel pressure, Oil pressure, Water temperature, Fuel level, Boost, & Trans temperature. Finishing it off is a welded in roll cage.

15” Center line wheels front and rear with Mickey Thompson Sportsman 31.5 x 18 in the rear and 26 x 7.50 front. Stopping the Camaro are 4-wheel disc brakes. Power steering was also added.

The video pretty much tells the story of the attention this car receives at shows and cruise events. Owner is selling because of too many toys.
