Car description

1971 GMC 1500 original short bed pick up with a 1967 C10 front clip.Truck is originally from Louisiana and has had a complete professional frame off restoration with many custom touches. The original small block has been replaced with a stock fuel injected LS1 and 4L60E overdrive transmission. Below are some of the highlights:
- LS1 and overdrive transmission- Brakes Wilwood 6 piston calipers with 2 piece rotors up front and Wilwood 4 piston calipers with 2 piece rotors out back- Lowered- 20" Hot Rods by Boyd wheels front and back- Custom leather interior- Custom stereo with amplifiers (under the seat) and subs behind the seat where gas tank was previously located- Gas tank relocated to the back of the truck- Custom paint-yellow and white with a burgundy pinstripe- Custom all stainless exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers- Dakota digital gauges- New glass and weather stripping- Prepped for A/C-needs bracket and compressor to be functional
The truck runs and drives well. It has been professionally tuned and the gauges, lights and features function as they should. Since the truck is originally from Louisiana it was a clean truck and any rust was removed and new pieces (ie: rocker panels, etc) were installed. Again, this is an original short bed and the current shade of yellow is close to the yellow it originally came with.
My son and I purchased the truck this summer and had planned to enjoy the truck while we fix some detail items, including finishing the A/C install. However, our plans have suddenly changed as we have decided to buy a boat.
While this is a nice reliable truck (we drove it from Florida to Michigan) that has had a lot of time and money invested, it is not perfect. It leaks some transmission fluid from the output shaft seal (I plan to replace), there are several paint chips (driver's door edge area has several imperfections), the brakes need adjusting, it needs to be detailed, there's a mild drivetrain vibration around 40-55 mph likely because of it being lowered and the pinion angle being off (I'll try to adjust/resolve), etc. Even though the paint was professionally done and very nice, it's not perfect, probably an 8 out of 10.Overall, a very nice and cool truck that gets compliments everywhere we go.
I almost forgot to mention I have the original protect-o-plate, dealer invoice/order form and owner's manual.
