1965 Chevrolet Corvair Description

1965 Chevrolet Corvair Monza

First year of the redesign Excellent candidate for full restoration or for parts Clean Missouri title 2.7L Flat 6 engine 2-Speed Powerglide automatic transmission Engine/Transmission is in an unknown condition Older but new tires

What you see is what you get with this Corvair, it's very complete but in a rough condition. This car would make a great candidate for a full restoration or to use as a parts car for a Corvair project! This Corvair came to MotoeXotica from a neighbor of an employee who wanted it gone from their yard. The previous owner knew very little about the car and we never attempted to get it running, so it is unknown if the engine runs or does not.

The body is mostly solid but does have rust in various places, the worst being the roof. Most of the body panels are in restorable condition are solid. The previous owner mounted a Jaguar hood ornament on the hood, which still remains in place, but it is unknown why. The tires hold air and still have the new stickers on them, but are older and have weathered some. There is a full size spare in the front and all four hub-caps are present too.

The interior is mostly complete but in a very dirty condition. The seats are in good condition and can easily be brought back to a very good condition. The steering wheel, gauges, and dashboard buttons are in good condition. With the trim and headliner are in the most neglected state on the interior of this Corvair.

A dramatic redesign of the Corvair came in 1965. The new body showed influence from the Corvette Stingray and the 1963 Buick Riviera. The mild coke bottle styling set the trend for GM cars for the next fifteen years, foreshadowing the 1967 Camaro. For the first time, none of the passenger cars had a "B" pillar, making all closed models true hardtops. The second generation's styling was rated timeless when new, and considered contemporary today in comparison to the first generation. A new fully independent suspension, similar in design to the Corvette, replaced the original swing axle rear suspension. However, the Corvair used coil springs at each wheel instead of the 'Vette's single transverse leaf spring unit.

On a clean Missouri Title!
