Car description

Hello everyone, 'm sellingmy Airbagged 1962 Chevy Corvair van. I boughtthe van from the original owner's family in 2007. The van was purchased byJim Miraglia of Miraglia Catering Service in San Leandro, alifornia in 1961.The van was a freight Vehicle for the catering company till the mid 80's. In fact, ts still to this day registered as a commercial vehicle. The van was originally orange and was told it was painted white in the late 70's.In April of 2007 I seen an online posting for the van, rove to San Leandro the next day and bought the van from brothers Michael and Tom Miraglia (the van was in the rear of the catering companies loading dock). Over the next 8 years I've done my best to keep it on the road with the same charm and character ofthe weathered workhorse that I purchased in 2007,and itstill loves to do what it was bread to do, ake It's driver smile. I had the airbags installed at a shop in Concord, alifornia in 2012, 've taken the van to numerous local benefit car shows, nd shows like Billetproof and Night of the Hot Rods. The van is always popular and always gets tons questions. It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to sell it, ut it is with greathope that someone will see what I seen the day I bought it.

Engine: Aircooled 145 c.i. 80hp. two Wolf Enterprise performance carburetors (three years old), i-Output alternator upgrade (two years old),new fuel pump and fuel lines (three years old) and a new serpentine belt (one year old).

Transmission: 2 speed powerglide (Automatic)

Suspension: Universal airbag kit. Front (bags)and rear (sleeves). with a 9 gallon Chrome air tank 1/2 inch lines. Viair chrome 440c compressor (one year old). two switches (front and back).

Interior: painted red and white throughout, he floor is unpainted.

Exterior: White with a tinge of rust here an there. Some sleekpinstriping on the front. chrome headlight half moons. the typical dings and dents. the roof has been under going metal work do to arusted through gutterin the rear drivers side. a lot of the rust has been cutout just need to weld in some new metal. the rust didn't bother me. that's the charm!

Wheels: Stock Chevy rims painted red with newer whitewall tires roughly with 1000 miles on them. I do have the original hubcaps somewhere in my garage.

The problems: the engine runs great, start it every other week and I drive it once or twice a month to keep everything lubed up. the main reason I don't dive it like I usedto isidling in gear the van wants to die, ike at a stop sign or a drive thru. I have to put it in neutral to keep it running smooth. people have said it sounds like it can be a vacuum leak. plus I've never had my carburetors adjusted. I cant do the work due to myjobschedule. the rear air lines need to be re tightened due to slow leaks the fronts seem to be o.k. but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to check all the lines for leaks. The van stops but defiantly needs breaks. As of right now the van is not readyfor the freeway and would need to be trailered. The van is registered till 2016 and I have the pink slip in hand. Thank you for looking at my post, 'll be happy to answer any questions you have about my van.
