Car description

1973 Buick Riviera, some new parts. Runs great!! Originally from an estate of a 98 year old original Indiana owner. Garage kept and he drove it sparingly locall, see low ORGINAL miles, 38K!! <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Bought from an Indiana collector in November 2017 with 38,560 miles. I am the third owner now in Chicago, Il.
I bought this green beauty Riviera in November 2017 with the understanding that's it a very nice driver, not a show car with some things to fix... A little rust on lower rear wheel wells and rear edge trunk has the original lacquer paint chipping. See pictures driver side rear wheel wells needs rust repair, minor rust at passenger wheel well area. Frame, floorboards surface rust, not bad, no problem there. Inspections welcome.. Chicago area...You can order a " We Go Look" for an independent inspection.. I can do a smoky burn out for that inspector to show tons of torque from that 455 ci Buick motor. Yeah yeah..
38k ORGINAL MILES.. Very nice interior but not perfec, see pictures and full description. Have receipts of parts bought and installed. Just like driving a new Rivie, runs great, tight and plenty of power.. Very easy to smoke rear tire, just passenger side, sorry no positraction.. Yeah yeah that 455 has tons of torque!!
Rebuilt 4 barrel Rochester carb with new fuel filter installed. Fixed divorced choke to idle down after engine warms up. Replaced pcv valve, breather and air filter as well. Motor runs good, plenty of power. Drives like a 38 thousand miles car, tight front end with no rattles. Will do great burn outs, but passenger side tire only, sorry no posit traction.. But of course i don't do burn outs every day.. Just when you want to get jiggie with itand blow out the carbon deposits from todays weak gasoline mixture.
Replaced driver side muffler with Walker brand muffler. Has a nice factory sounding rumble.. Not too loud or soft. No more exhaust leaks.. Has older dual exhaust system but still intact. Drivers side muffler damaged / rusted/ bent up so i replaced it. Damaged in transport or back fire from that smoky burn out in Indiana ??Every one that has a Rivie does smoky burn outs .... Am i right??
Has new battery in November 2017 and alternator replaced. Engine spins over like it should and starts great every time. Upgraded with PERTRONIX electronic ignition system and new Flame Thrower coil. AC/DELCO plugs, cap and rotor and wires installed also.
Replaced radiator upper and lower hoses. Previous owner in Indiana replaced the radiator. New thermostat and by pass hose. New alternator / water pump belt installed. New smog pump belt and running, functional air pump. Adjusted timing, carb idle mixture to run great.
New heater valve and heater hoses. No leaking of heater core. Good heat and dash heat switches work to cycle climate control. A/C was not charged and cooling when i bought the car. A/C compressor bracket in trunk. See picture.
Trans shifts fine with no leaks. Brakes work fine, they stop this large beast with no noise or pulling.
Dash no cracks. Door panels both sides arm rest some cracks, but nice for its age. See pictures. Interior seats very good except for driver bottom cushion seat seam split. Headliner great condition along with dark brown carpet. Non smokers car. All dash gauges work, power drivers seat works. All power windows work. Cruise control works. Radio works, but only one front speaker works. All lights work. Clean interior, no funky smells. No water leaking of windows to cause mold. Garage kept. See pictures, body side moulding strips all there. Vinyl top is in excellent condition.
Handsome color combination. Always gets thumbs up and complements and stories from people remembering when they or a friend drove a BOATTAIL RIVIERA!!
Again its a daily driver, has some minor rust issues and not a show car. But still a very sharp looking looking Riviera.
Under hood and trunk lip areas not rusted out. See pictures. Spare tire is Buick chrome rally wheel. Has original spare from years ago..Jack and base and handle there. Spare tire attaching hook and spinner knob present. Trunk cardboard sides with spare tire cardboard cover all nice condition including the trunk carpet.
New wiper blades installed.
The next owner could do the rust repairs and restore the interior and paint to bring to the next level...A decent nice looking driver, but has some minor rust to fix. I feel this Riv should be worked on, and will shine again. I hope i have explained the condition and repairs done. If you have any question please ask.. Thanks!
Inspections welcome. Chicago area. Very dependable driver, would drive any where. Tires still have good thread and in good shape. Glass and chrome very good for age. Come and inspect, a nice Riviera that needs a little work.
See my other auctions;1970 Cadillac CDV 18,000 Miles..1969 Cadillac ELDORADO 38,000 Miles..Both very clean, down sizing collection. Need to sell. Located in the Chicago area.
Remember 455 buick motors will blow off the tires with tons of torque and smoky burn outs will happen when you forget and give her a little gas... Yeah yeah!!
