Car description

**PLEASE SCROLL DOWN THE AD LISTING PAGE TO VIEW A COMPLETE SET OF DETAILED PHOTOS OF THE VEHICLE**Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this nicely restored Bugeye Sprite with excellent, strong mechanicals. This car was recently purchased from it's long term back East owner who restored the car over a period of a few years with good results. This attractive little car has been thoughtfully restored in the right colors with upgraded alloys, rebuilt healthy 1098cc engine coupled to the stronger ribcase gearbox. The bodywork on this car is very good with a respray in attractive BRG paintwork. The car presents well with few blemishes. Panel fit is actually very good for a Bugeye Sprite with decent gaps and nice fitting doors. The car has lots of new chromework with cleaned up original aluminum pieces, windshield frame and cockpit cappings. The car's undercarriage appears very clean and honest with excellent, original, solid, rustfree floors, inner and outer rockers, and an accident-free tail. The previous owner stated that the car was sourced originally from the state of Arizona, and it shows...The car's mechanicals are extremely strong. The engine starts easily on the key, sounds fantastic through it's newer Moss stainless exhaust system, revs well with no smoke with great oil pressure (60psi running, 35psi idling). The 4-speed ribcase gearbox shifts very well up and down through the gears, although it has the typical non-syncro first gear wear noise, but not really bad enough yet to facilitate a rebuild. The car's clutch and original drum brake setup both perform fine. The tire and wheel set is excellent. Steering is very positive and direct and the suspension is taught responsive.I never really understood the "Bugeye" thing until I drove this car. It's a fantastic little performer on the road with a signature go-cart feel about it, very direct and positive. Grippy handling in a very light car. Pushing the car hard, I was amazed at how fast the ground could whiz by accompanied with a fun, barking exhaust note. This car includes a group of miscellaneous new and used parts leftover from the restoration, a nice black tonneau cover, windwing set, fitted spare tire, jack with bag. The current softop is in decent shape but the plastic window has started to yellow with age.Overall, an attractive and charming Bugeye Sprite in great colors, nicely restored, with some worthwhile improvements and great mechanicals. This car feels very well sorted on the road and will provide it's new owner with unending fun and attention with it's cheeky looks.
