Car description

This is a " Classic Roadsters, td. " Austin Healey 5000 kit car . I purchased this kit from the owner in late 2004. At the time the engine had been professionally rebuilt but an unexpected locked rear axle, ome missing body components, and wiring harness mess kept it off the road. My wife and I purchased it with the intent of building a poor man's Sunbeam Tiger performance type vehicle. We bought this kit car as a hobby with no completion time envisioned. Time flies plus a couple of medical close calls delayed the completion timing. Now, t this stage of our lives, e no longer crave the "sport car" feeling of a V/8 convertible with a 5 speed manual transmission. The car has a clear Michigan title but has never been licensed by me. Over the years, esting mileage was accumulated around the neighborhood side streets, ll of which was done without the speedometer or fuel tank connected ( I used a gas can connected to the fuel pump). The vehicle probably has less than 100 test miles on the drive train. So, ith this intro, will give you the build details.Chassis: 1) CR Sebring 5000 1974-78 Mustang II front and rear suspension with manual rack and pinion steering. 2) 5 bolt lug pattern (4 1/2 inch bolt circle). 3) CR specified front / rear coil/leaf springs and shock absorbers. 4) Denny's prop shaft. 5) Rebuilt T-5 transmission. 6) New 8 inch Ford Equa-Lock differential w/ 3.55 ratio.Engine: 1) 1979 Ford 302 V/8 - rebuilt. 2) Holley Street Dominator intake manifold. 3) Holley 600 CFM 4BBL Carb with electric choke. 4) M.A.C. headers and new dual exhaust. 5) Oil pressure safety switch.
