1989 Volkswagen Jetta GLI 16V Helios Wolfsburg EditionThis 1989 Volkswagen Jetta GLI 16V is one of 1,500 Helios Wolfsburg Editions produced for a single-model year, all of which feature Helios Blue Metallic paint, color-matched 15″ BBS RA wheels, Recaro front seats with patterned cloth inserts, a sunroof, air conditioning, power accessories, and body-color mirror caps. Power is provided by twin-cam 1.8L inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle.All 1,500 Helios Wolfsburg Edition examples were finished in Helios Blue Metallic (LA5Y) and feature black bumpers and trim, a front air dam with integrated brake ducts, plastic fender flares, body-color mirrors, and a rear spoiler. Additional equipment includes Wolfsburg fender badges, a crank-operated sunroof, and GLI 16V badging.BBS RA 15″ basketweave wheels with color-matched centers were standard on the Helios Wolfsburg Edition.The cabin features Recaro Trophy sport seats up front with cloth patterned inserts, along with matching bolstered rear seats.The dashbaord shows sings of age with sun cracking.The 16-valve 1.8L DOHC inline-four features Bosch KE­-Jetronic fuel injection and was rated from the factory at 123 horsepower, which is sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle.

The car is presently in a non-op status in the state of California with no back fees. Car is a barn find and we did maintenance as required to get it into operating condition. Maintenance as follows:
-Bosch Super F6DTC Spark Plugs
-Bosch Cap and Rotor
-Oil, Fuel and Air Filter-2 Factory Fuel Pumps-Factory Oil Pan (original one was dented)-Oil Change-Coolant Flush-Brake Flush and Bleed
Certain issues are common to be found on cars of this age, this car spent the majority of its time in the southern United States in California. Here is a list of the issues we found:-Paint sun-burnt in spots with scratches and blemishes
-Cruise control doesn't function-Air Conditioning needs recharge (original R12)-Vacuum door locks have leak, pump functions-Couple doors hard to open, common VW issue-Suspension needs replacing-Grommets missing from rear spoiler-E-brake leather boot is torn-Dashboard shows signs of sun burn wear and cracking
