rare 67 VW micro bus split. Drive as it is, restore to original, or make camper.

Description

I had the front end rebuilt on this bus in 2005 at Nelson VW in Machesney Park, IL, and it has driven less than 100 miles since. I was to install shocks, but didn't get as enthused as I had hoped to. It runs and drives with a good motor and transmission, but needs carb cleaned to idle and brakes attended to, as it hasn't seen the road for years. It has run regularly and moved around my 5 acre yard, where I would hang out with it from 2005-2016. I have since moved to Colorado, with bus on trailer with hopes to re-kindle the relationship with my bus, but I now have two baby daughters who ride with airbags, and I hope this bus will go to someone who can share the love I no longer do.
It's 1600cc dual port motor has an oil filter (changed regularly) on it's pump. You can see it in the photo of the bottom of motor. I installed it when I got the bus in the early 1990's.
It includes brand new brake parts in boxes, including a difficult to find 1967 1/2 year only master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake shoes, brake and clutch pedal return springs, accelerator cables along with some extra lug nuts, windshield wipers, and a hub cap. The brake parts were all purchased in the last 2 years. The parking brake works perfectly.
It has excellent bumpers. The tires have held air for years and have good treads.
This bus has some rust through at the rockers and front floor, but it is quite solid. The vin plate is in a photo. I have made an attempt to reveal it's issues. Send a message if you have any questions, or if you want more photos.
