When I purchased the BJ42 it was a well kept truck with a strong 4 cylinder 3B 3.4 liter Diesel motor. Before I purchased and imported the BJ42 I had it inspected by a Toyota Dealership. The inspection noted the vehicle was mechanically in excellent condition throughout. A compression test was performed and all cylinders are in good compression range. This is a late model 42 Series Land Cruiser with the factory 5 speed manual gearbox with power steering. The front disc brakes and rear pads show minimal wear. Recent Mechanical Work:New Water PumpInjector Lift Pump Services and TimedNew BeltsNew Starter MotorFilters and Fluids While in Spain I contracted with the importer's preferred body shop for the restoration. 250 Hours of rust repair and paint and bodywork was completed. The Land Cruiser was disassembled and all rust was removed and replaced with new metal. The original color was white but I decided to change the color to TRD Toyota Cement Gray Metallic code 1H5. The Roof was repainted and a new gelcoat was applied. I have worked on it and have been enjoying it during my ownership. It is in great running order. It shifts great and is capable of highway speeds. I recently installed new Falken Wildpeak AT3W 275/70r16 tires providing a smooth ride. The alignment is good and but the larger tires require the steering wheel to be rotated to be dead center. The only known items that do not work is the cigarette lighter, digital clock and glow plug preheat indicator. The rear window seals could be replaced since the old ones were reused. Everything works as it should. Inspections are encouraged to see this iconic BJ42. Please contact me with any question.
