Car description |

Up for sale is a true 242 1967 GTO barn find. This car has been stored in a climate controlled storage facility for over forty years! My friend owned the car and stored the GTO without the trim to avoid any possible rusting prior to going off to college forty years ago. He never took it out after that and I acquiredit about four years ago. When I got the car I did the normalthings like battery, plugs, fluids and the car started right up! Its very clean, solid both underneath and on the exterior. I replaced a few bad sockets and some electrical and got all the electronics working including directionals, wipers, and all lights. I also buffed and polished the paint to try and rejuvenate it and put the trim back on the vehicle. I had intentions of fully restoring but time has been hard to come by lately. This wouldtake very little to makegreat. Perfect father son/daughter project or just do a few things to get it road worthy and drive it as is. I have the Pontiac Historical Services documentation as well. Since I acquired the vehicle from a friend I am also privileged to know its history. I am also including links to more photos and videos and am trying to describe the gto as best i can for potential buyers. This car is a very solid complete car that runs and drives.
The car was originally white. My friend painted in red prior to storing the vehicle. He also added cups to the rear springs raising the back to accommodate large tires as seen. Since then the springs have weakened so the tires are rubbing on the rear wheel wells just a bit. Because of this I have only driven the vehicle up and down my driveway and have not taken it on the open road. The car does needs work to be reliable like carb rebuild, bushings etc. The brakes do work to stop the car. As for the paint it is faded. He never painted the door jambs so those are still the original white color.
The engine is not the original 400. rather they put a 350 from a 71 or 72 Firebird in instead. I have reason to believe it is the original tranny and rear end however. All the trim is excellent and in original condition. It is all there except for one small piece around the vinyl top rear corner. The car is very solid however there is only a few small areas that need to be addressed. Below the rear window molding looks to be repaired with old filler but needs to be redone. Photos show this. It is minor but worth noting. Underneath the car is very clean and very solid. There is one rear body mount that is bad and should be replaced. It also looks like the inner wheels wells had maybe had a small repair. Other than that this is clean. Maybe some slight surface rust here and there but take a look at the photos, they are worth a thousand words. The hood tach is mounted but not hooked up.
The interior is all there. the back seat and head liner are in excellent condition. The radio is not original.. The drivers seat has a rip in it, typical spot..
Clean title in hand. Buyer to coordinate and pay for all transportation ans shipping costs. deposit and full payment to me made prior to vehicle pick up. Paypal deposit and bank to bank transfer required for payment.
