Car description

1975 Pontiac Grandville Brougham Convertible

Remarkably original Grandville Brougham with just 32,000 original miles, ully loaded with factory options & accessories, nd a rare color combination! Early sales documentation and sale literature included! A rare car representing only 4,519 ever built in Pontiac's final year offering of a full sized, ig block, onvertible!  Great investment!

It was no rumor that General Motors was going to discontinue full-size convertible vehicles in 1975 across the corporate spectrum, ave Cadillac for one additional year. This meant the Buick Centurian, ldsmobile 88, nd Chevrolet Caprice would be among the list retired in drop top form.  The oil embargo and high fuel prices had its toll on consumers, o large cars with big engines were coming to an sad end.  For this reason, ver at Pontiac they decided for the final year of the Grandville to be issued the smaller 400ci V8 as standard equipment and the 455ci V8 optional for the first time.  It would be called the Grandville Brougham, arking the end of the top-of-the-line series forever, nd loaded with standard options!  These included power disc brakes, ower steering, ower windows, urbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission, nd carpeted trunk.

We are very excited to represent this 1975 Pontiac Grandville Brougham Convertible finished in unique Starlight Black over White interior and matching White convertible top! This highly optioned example is fitted with the 455ci V8 engine, urbo-Hydramatic transmission, ower disc brakes, ower steering, ual power front 60/40 split bench seats, 5" Rally II Sport wheels wrapped in whitewall tires, ower windows, owers locks, ower folding convertible top, ruise control, ir conditioning, oor edge guards, assenger visor vanity mirror, ll tinted Soft-Ray glass, ender skirts, adial Tuned Suspension, nd body side moldings.

This all number's matching, riginal example sold new from Bert Adams Pontiac based in Joliet, llinois when "near new". It was apparent the original dealer was not going to let this one go easily as it had already accumulated 6,795 demo miles before the first owner could pry it from the principal's hands! And selling at $2,000 above average MSRP, t was a huge premium for the day!  Even with a trade in, he original owner must have struggled with the monthly payment of $206 every month making only the first four before trading the car back to the original dealer to resell again.  By March or 1976, t sold again with 17,740 miles to another Illinois buyer, gain at a premium pre-owned price of $5,500.  Included with the sale of this Grandville is the original build sheet, actory sale invoice, alesman worksheet, wner's manual, arranty booklet, cheduled maintenance guide, xtended warranty receipt, ayment booklet, riginal AM/FM/8-track Stereo radio with amplifier, nd more!  The second owner's invoice, dometer statement, nd registration receipt is also provided.

Jump ahead to 2006, he vehicle continues to remain in Joliet, llinois and remains wonderfully maintained by its carful owner. Recent maintenance from 2012 with an odometer reading of 31,153 include new water pump, ew radiator, hermostat, ew coolant, adiator hoses, ransmission pan gasket, ransmission filter kit, ew Dextron III transmission fluid, uel hoses, uel filter, ew muffler, nd only a few other minor items.  It last sold in 2013 to a collector in Quincy, llinois with 31,240 miles and never left Illinois before coming to the St. Louis Car Museum in 2015 with only 32,610 as of today.  A remarkable vehicle that we refined with a complete detail to the exterior, nterior, nd engine compartment by our staff!  The finished result is nothing short of show worthy for an original example such as this!  Super slick paint and bright work, lean and blemish free interior and convertible top, nd outstanding mechanicals that include fully functional options including all power features and air conditioning!  This represents one of only 4,519 built in 1975 and the lower convertible production of all its GM counterparts!   We encourage personal visits and welcome inspections.  This is a superior collector quality vehicle not to be missed!
