Car description

Mostly complete 1970 Plymouth Barracuda project car. Great candidate for a do-it-yourself restoration. Would be perfect for a patina looking exterior with new interior and fresh drivetrain.
Body will need significant rust repair. Cowl is rusted in front of the heater box, where mice had built a nest. Upper cowl seam and area around master cylinder are solid. Sides of cowl are solid. LH front frame rail was replaced about 6 inches forward of the cowl (yellow rail) and a new OEM LH inner fender was installed. Note the white part number on the back side. Frame rail placement is functionally correct and could use some cosmetic clean up at the weld connection. Door hinge mounting surface is solid along with door jamb in striker area.Front and rear window jambs do not have any rust in them. B-pillars are solid as this was NOT a vinyl top car.Tailpanel is solid along with the trunk jamb. Will need rust repair to most body panels along with full trunk floor, extensions, and outer wheel well replacement. Left rear frame rail is rusted out below the trunk floor (mouse nest). Outer ends of the torsion bar crossmember are rusted out where they meet the rockers. Area around the torsion bar connections is good. Original chrome bumpers would be good cores and all exterior trim is in decent shape with light scuffs, dents and dings from normal use. Windshield is cracked, all other glass is good. Headliner has a split seam. Seats are surprisingly good and could be re-dyed. Grill center section has some cracks and in reasonably good shape for 50 year old plastic. Missing bottom piece of chrome. RH headlight bezel is original and LH is a poor quality reproduction. Both have bezel chrome. Includes front sway bar and 8-1/4 rear end (missing brake drum assemblies). 14" ralley wheels with correct bulletcenter caps. No motor or transmission. Clear title.
I've seen a couple E-bodies where guys sealed up the cars (ie. floor pans and firewall repairs), made them structurally sound (ie. frame rails) and then restored the interior for a comfortable ride, installed original or late model drivetrain for reliability, and left the exterior patina alone. This car would be a good candidate for that as all the body panels are the same color. Go one step further and make it look like a car that ran at the local weekend drag strip back in the day by adding aftermarket performance parts decals on the quarter glass or install vintage lettering to make it look like an old nostalgia drag car.
