Car description

It's time to sell my 1971 440 Six Pack Cuda Tribute. If you are looking for a numbers matching 1971 V code Cuda then you are looking in the wrong place and about half a million dollars too low. This car started life as an original TX9/TX9 Black on Black 318 Barracuda Grand Coupe. It was completely disassembled, body repaired and painted and a 440 was dropped in. But wait, it gets BETTER! The 440 was bored and stroked by Carolina Machine Works to 522 Ci with 10:1 compression 2 years ago. I then topped that off with some Trick Flow aluminum heads, full roller valve train, Edelbrock six pack setup, MSD-6a ignition and distributor, high volume oil pump with 8qt pan, high volume fuel mechanical fuel pump, and replaced all the normal items such as water pump and so forth. I then replaced the Torq-flite 727 with a built A518 overdrive automatic (one of the best investments ever made). Now you can cruise down the highway at 70+ MPH in comfort vice enduring a deafening roar. And of course, the rear is a 3.55 Dana 60. And I forgot to mention, every wire in the car is new. The car was a BEAST and a handful to drive when you get 'froggy'. So I installed Wilwood disc brakes all the way around with Wilwood master cylinder. Then, the next best investment ever, I put a front anti-sway bar on and frame connectors. It's now much more 'reassuring' to drive although it can still get you in trouble fast. The exhaust is Doug's long tube headers into a dual 2.5" Magnaflow stainless exhaust. The interior is in very good shape. No tears or fading and other than some holes put into the center console to mount something in the past, no real issues at all. It has an Ididit tilt steering column with touch start (no ignition key) and restored rim blow steering wheel. I didn't cheese out on the stereo either while trying to keep it looking low keyed. The stereo is secret audio with subwoofer and amp in the trunk with 6x9's in the rear deck and 6" speakers in the kick panels.
I tried really hard to remember anything that doesn't work exactly as it should on the car and the only things I could come up with are that the trip odometer sticks and the passenger side driving light is burnt out.
The heater box has been removed (but will be in the trunk for whoever buys the car) as I don't drive the car in the winter. Currently, the MSD-6 box is mounted inside the car where the heater box was. The tires have much more than 50% tread on them as I only put about 1000 miles per year on the car going to car shows and cruising around the local area.
The only reason I'm selling the car is that the kids are finally out of the house and the wife and I decided it's time to finally move to the lake. So I have too many toys and the classic cars are going.
If you purchase with the buy it now price, I will arrange and pay for open carrier shipping within the continental US and will include a large amount of original parts to the car (i.e. original steering column, standard dash, original jack, and a bunch of other odds and ends scattered throughout my garage).
I of course HIGHLY encourage anyone to come and look at the car (located in Rochester, NH) or ask any questions. I can provide any pictures or videos you may want and put the car on the lift as necessary.
$500 due upon winning bid/buy it now. Remainder must clear my bank prior to releasing the car and due within 14 days. I LOVE this car and hate to see it go, but our long term priority was always to live on the water.

On Aug-25-19 at 10:41:47 PDT, seller added the following information:

I have taken a series of 5 one minute videos showing the interior/starting the car/car running walk around/engine compartment/known flaws. If you would like me to send the videos, please just send me an e-mail address to send them to. EBay won't let me send videos via their messaging system. A lot of interest in the car, so let me answer a couple questions. I am not willing to sell for some amount less before the auction ends other than the buy it now price. The reserve is very reasonable considering the price of these cars. I will, obviously, support loading the car on a transport, but if not using the buy it now option, then all transport functions are the responsibility of the buyer (arranging and paying for).
The videos do the car much more justice than the photos in the ad. The photos kind of make the car look dull or dirty (I think it was the shadows). You can really see the shine and condition in the videos.
