Car description

1954 Plymouth Belvedere (Series P25-3)

2-Door Hardtop - Sports Coupe

COMPLETE FRAME-OFF RESTORATION

Santa Rosa Coral& Black Top

Actual low miles, 1st year example of a Belvedere as its own model for Plymouth. This new model for 1954 was equipped with larger standard engine: 230.2 cu in (3.8 L) Impressively power rated at factory 210 hp. This 2-door hardtop was factory painted a striking, rarer color combination of SANTA ROSA CORAL with a factory BLACK Top and factory tinted windows ...in 1954 most 2-tones were capped white… black was the sporty “bad boy” color.

HISTORY: This car had been owned by one family since new. It was a pristine & low mileage survivor that the last owner found and then lovingly restored. 2nd owner did a complete restoration over a period of 10+ years. I purchased the car from his estate. No expense had been spared in rebuilding the vehicle from end to end. When I bought the car it was located 2 hours north of Toronto, Canada. From there this beauty was loaded on a train and shipped to Vancouver, BC. I drove it south over the border to Seattle; a drive of about 2 ½ hours. The car was cruising straight and strong at speeds of 65 to 70 MPH without issues. Just like I had just received delivery on a new car back in 1954.... what a fun day :)

During my years of ownership I have only had one chance to get this car to a car show. It was a real head turner…and people’s favorite choice for the show. A few of the photos are from the car’s participation in a magazine type professional model shoot.

MECHANICAL & BODY: Full restorations, frame-off body, full interior & running gear restorations. Many NOS pieces used, the interior all redone using correct colors & quality upgraded materials. Most everything was re-chromed that was not located as NOS. The body & frame metals in this car are unbelievable. When you look up underneath the car ….what you see looks as good as new out of the factory; plus lightweight undercoated. All metal surface repaint: dash, window frames & interior panels, under hood & trunk lids, inside trunk, engine compartments, etc. You can see the paint coatings even in the wheel wells and under the bumper extension panels (see photo). Amazing attention to details with most every nut & bolt new. Engine, transmission, all running gear rebuilt or replaced. Correct factory colors & decals under hood, interior rear side lights work…all interior panels, trunk liners, etc…done to factory+ specs. Correct 4-ply whitewall tires on factory rims with NOS hubcaps. Even the headliner was replaced with high quality new padded mohair liner. This car is stunning …photos do not do this car justice!

This Belvedere always fires right up even after sitting long periods. It runs strong, it idles smooth, it purrs. Car has always been kept in a heated garage. This car was built at the Ontario, Canada, Plymouth plant. As such, it can be sent back to Canada with ease. Very few miles have been added since it's full restoration. The mileage of 79,348 is actual to this car. Factory manual in glovebox, spare tire, jack & tire iron. All factory correct VIN tag & serial plate.

This may be the finest STOCK example of a 1st year Belvedere 2-dr Hardtop Coupe still around. Priced well below estimates of actual value, and well below costs to rebuild & restore a car to this level. An amazing find in a fantastic color. I am including my props of the vintage 50’s pillows. More photos available upon request.
