Car description

Please call us at 913-461-4890 with questions or to make purchase arrangements. This is a quality classic worth your time and investment, and is a great way to diversify your investments and hedge against uncertain markets.
We typically only list our cars on ebay once, so please don't hesitate if this car is for you, as they aren't around here for long due to their combination of quality and price. A detailed video walk-around of the car is available, as well as additional pictures. Just email or call to let us know what you'd like to see.
This rare Plymouth is a gorgeous, fully restored example of American "big fin" design, and it was popularized in the Stephen King movie "Christine" back in 1983. The movie used 24 1958 Plymouths (not '57s, as most people mistakenly believe), most of which were Belvederes and Savoys made to look like a Fury. The '59 Belvedere 2DHT you see here is a very rare find today, and has several significant upgrades, making it more enjoyable to own and drive.
The original polysphere 318 V8 was upgraded using correct '57 Plymouth dual quad intake, carbs, and air cleaners, giving it 290hp. It features the original push-button Torqueflight 3 speed transmission, power steering, upgraded power 4-Wheel-Disc-Brakes, Cold Vintage AC/Heat, Stewart Warner gauges, aluminum radiator, 12-volt conversion, and new 20-inch Ridler wheels and tires (the original painted wheels, hubcaps, and a clean set of whitewalls come with the car). It runs great, drives smooth & tight, and isn't a sloppy or rattly car. The detail under the car still looks great despite the restoration being several years old.
This previously California car is rust-free, and has all original body panels, floors, and trunk pan. It has beautiful paint and body in the original "BB" powder blue poly. It is smooth, straight, deep, and dent-free. All chrome & stainless was restored & shows very well. All glass is in excellent condition, with both the windshield and rear window replaced during restoration. The blue/white interior is excellent, with clean, well-stuffed upholstery, detailed padded dash, nice door panels, and perfect headliner. Everything works, even the clock. A set of Stewart Warner gauges is installed where the radio normally sits, so there's currently no sound system. However, the rear deck is wired with a nice set of Infinity speakers. (A Secret Audio system would be a nice final touch). The trunk is finished to the same level as the interior.
This car is ready to be driven, shown, or proudly displayed at your local cruise night. No one will have one like it, that's for certain. The car only has a few superficial defects, including a couple tiny dings in the aluminum trim, a small spot on the front bumper where the chrome is slightly dull, and minor wear on the driver's side carpet. This car represents an excellent value given its condition, upgrades, and prices of the scarce other examples that are still available. We encourage you to comparison shop--you won't find one in better condition plus these very nice upgrades for less (that is if you can even find one for sale at all!).
PLEASE READ THIS: This is not a game; bids are a contract to buy. Please have all your financing and permissions in order BEFORE placing a bid. Likewise, satisfy yourself on the condition of the car BEFORE you bid. We have video and plenty more pics, and we welcome personal inspections. Please remember you are buying a near-60 year old classic car, not a 60 day old new car! We've tried to describe the car accurately, but we can't possibly cover every detail that every buyer might like us to. We don't charge ridiculous dealer prep, titling, or other fees. You pay only the price of the car, plus shipping and over-nighting of any documents you might require. This car is sold "as is," with no warranty of any kind, expressed or implied. A NON-refundable $500 deposit is due from the winning bidder within 3 business days of auction close. The remainder is due within 7 business days of auction close. Buyer is responsible for all taxes and shipping costs. We have a good shipper you can use and we will help with those details if you wish. Call with other questions: 913-461-4890
