Car description

Folks, I've just got to face it -- I have too many cars. I can fit seven inside the garages at my house and two more on other properties I own, and with two that I bought last year getting ready to come out of shops in the next few weeks, a couple of them just HAVE TO GO and so I am listing two vintage convertibles for you this week - -very low reserves - - - you get the chance to have a couple of great show stoppers way off the money. This 1966 Oldsmobile 98 convertible is just stunning in burgundy metallic with a white top - -and it has just about every option that you can think of - - air conditioning, power windows, power locks, power seat, power top - -even power VENT windows - -the 425 V-8 with Four-Jet carburetor, AM-FM radio, dual antennas, even dual factory Oldsmobile vanity mirrors on the sunvisors -- - I mean I have seen several cars with One....but TWO!!? When I got the car, it had been in air-conditioned storage for 9 years without being driven.....so I replaced the brakes, drained the tank and fuel lines, rebuilt the carburetor, had the heads taken off and redone - - now it runs and drives like a dream!
The AC comes on but is not cold and I do not have r-12 to recharge it -- pretty easy conversion to 134, but I figured I would let the next buyer make that decision - - I know that some people like it exactly stock, and it's pretty cheap to do either way, so...your call. The power antennas do not go up and down. ALL THE OTHER POWER ACCESSORIES WORK!
This is a clean car that was always a nice body - -not some dragged-out-of-a-field rusty junkbox that somebody redid. Corners of the doors, hood and trunk are all clean and straight, floorpans great, etc! It has never been show-detailed underneath, as you can see, but it has never been rusted out, either! You are looking right at the 51-year old original frame and floorpans with no work ever done - or needed!
This is a sharp car that draws attention everywhere you go - - pull into a car show and people all come over right away - -when was the last time anybody saw one?! If you want it AACA competition-ready, though, you will want to respray the hood and trunk as they are a little bit faded. The chrome is original and you may want to replate it to make it dazzling, but it is very much cruise-night ready as it is.
Fly to Florida and drive it home, or I can meet your transporter anytime.
$5000 deposit required within 3 days. Balance within 7 days. The car can stay here until you get transportation arranged (I know sometimes this takes a little while) for a few weeks if necessary. Thanks for looking and enjoy your new car!
