Car description

Introduction: Up on the auction block is a very original 1972 MG Midget with only 75,857 actual miles. She has been very well preserved and maintains all her original factory components with only one repaint. She is just itching for the weather to break to hit the open roads again.

Exterior: Drenching these gorgeous British lines is a stunning Flame Red paint finish. Flame Red was a two year only color for the Midgets and is the original color to this particular car. All of the panels appear very straight and true and the body lines and gaps look great. The original chrome is presentable but does have some clouding to it. The body is very solid with only a few small paint chips and 2-3 dime size bubbles. Under the car you will find solid floorboards, solid inner fender wells, and solid spring mounts. She has just been fitted with a brand new convertible top.

Interior:The jet-black interior, just as the exterior is just about as original as she can be. All original Smiths gauges are still nestled tightly away in their dash pockets and allwork properly. The original dash does have a couple of small cracks but does not take anything away from the car at all. The original seats and panels are in good shape; however, the driver's seat does have a separation at a seam. I am sure a good upholstery shop could get it fixed right up. All the interior appears to be functional from all gauges, radio, down to the blower motor. In the trunk you will find a knockoff spare tire, jack, and original tools. I even have the spreader bar (not pictured) that goes across behind the rear seats to support the full cockpit tonneau cover (full cover not included) All in all the interior does have a few signs of use but it is only original once and you just can't beat that.

Mechanical:Powering this little machine is a 1275cc 4 cylinderengine backed by a 4 speed manual transmission. She comes to life with the bump of the key and transitions through all gears quietly with ease. She tracks down the road straight and smooth and comes to a stop just the same. Planted on all four corners are factory wire knock off wheels which includes a 5th for spare. The engine compartment seems untouched and still actually maintains all the original emissions equipment.

Details:At the end of the auction, winning bidder to pay $500 deposit within 24 hours. Inspections are always welcomed prior to bidding. Please feel free to contact with any questions. I am happy to help prepare the car for shipping if necessary, but buyer would be responsible to arrange transportand pay for actual shipping costs. Thank you for viewing this listing and good luck bidding!!!
