Car description

This is a 1965 Comet 404 I acquired about 6 years ago from Colorado. It is a 2 door post model or 2-door sedan if you prefer. Basics: 289 v8 with 2 barrel carburetor. automatic transmission. and power steering. The original owners manual is included with the car and the owners card is still in the pocket in the manual. I believe I am the 3rd owner. The original owner was a lady and it was bought from Kumpf Motor Car Company in Denver. Colorado on September 28. 1964. The car was repainted and reupholstered before my purchasing it. The paint and interior are very nice. There is a small rip in the headliner of about 1 3/4 inches in length. The rip can be seen in the photo of the headliner. The 289 2v engine has a set of tubular headers installed and a great sounding dual exhaust. Again. this was done before I purchased the car. It also has a set of Magnum 500 style wheels with Ford center caps on the car. The spare is the same wheel without the center cap. The tires are Epic Tour 205/70R x 14 and have a lot of tread. The spare is not the same and is a red line bias ply. The car is very solid. I have found a small rust hole in the left rear quarter panel underneath at the very bottom. See picture. The transmission gave out shortly after I bought the car. It also had a broken motor mount (the rubber insulator was torn loose). I had a lot going on so the car sat in storage most of the time I owned it. I have just installed a new TCI C4 transmission and a new TCI torque converter and have only been able to drive the car a couple of miles to test it. We have a lot of snow and ice here and I prefer to keep the car clean and not have someone slide into it. thank you. The car is 50 years old. but looks and drives great. It needs a few things. The floorpan looks good. but has surface rust as you can see in the picture. It should be cleaned up and coated with a rust converter. It is solid and not “punky”. There is no jack in the car. although there is a lug wrench. So you will need to find a jack for the car. I have never used the radio and just discovered the radio doesn’t work. The rear bumper has a bad spot on the chrome and needs to be redone. With a little tweaking this can be a great summer driver or a nice weekend cruiser. Please ask any questions you may have before bidding. If there is a reserve. I do not give it out. It has a clear title. The title and/or car will not be given out until all money is received.
