Car description

Hello, this is a REAL DEAL 1966 Mercury Comet Cyclone GT 390. The Fifth Digit in the VIN. is an S which proves it is a Real 390 Cyclone GT . This is a Very High Quality Numbers Matching Restored car. The Original Body and Underbody are just Super Nice and Rust Free. It was repainted in Viper Red which Really makes it stand out (it is an Original Red car with Black interior) about 7 years ago, but truly looks like it was just done (it took until now to get this car finished). It is a VERY High Quality Paint Job (Base/Clear) and is Laser Straight .There is NO RUST and NO BUBBLES. You would have to look at a LOT of these to find one as nice as this. You can clearly see that this was and is a Very unmolested and well taken care of car. One of the signs of how well this car was treated is the Condition of the Original Wiring, it is not dry or rotting whatsoever, its very impressive. It has been a Dry North Carolina car most of its life and it shows. The restoration was stared with a very, very nice Numbers Matching Original Cyclone GT to begin with.It also still has the Original Fiberglass and Steel Hood with the Really Cool Dual Scoops. The Interior is also Absolutely Beautiful too. It has Brand New Carpet, Door Panels, Package Tray and Seats ( I bought New Complete Expensive Leather Front Bucket Seats that look very similar to the stock ones, but these are much nicer and more Comfortable and slide further up and back, for shorter or taller drivers, than the stock ones do, and these also Recline, which is Really Nice. The Headliner was already in nice condition. All of the Weather striping and Window Felts are also Brand New. The list of new parts goes on and on. The Gauges, Lights and Turn Signals all work. The Speedometer is off by about 10 mph for some reason. Even the Original AM Radio Works ! Ok, I need a LOT of space to explain what else is new on the car, so I will make it as easy to read as possible. The Original Engine has been just Completely Rebuilt and runs Very Strong (only has about 40 miles on it) and has had some Power Added to it. . It also has a Brand New Holley Carb. These Cyclone GT 390's came from the Factory with a Holley Carb (GTO's, Etc.. didn't ). It has a larger than stock new Comp Cam (but not too large) that coupled with the Flowmaster 40's Really lets you know this car has a Lot of Power. The sound is Pure Muscle Car Heaven. They didn't sound anything like this when they were new. The Exhaust System is a Brand New Complete Welded System from front to tailpipes. There is No Denying the car's Horsepower if you are within 100 feet of it. Its loud but not overly loud. It definitely Sounds as Cool as it looks (Sounds Much better than most Muscle Cars). My 1966 GTO sounds tame and lame next to it The C6 transmission is also Fully Rebuilt (again, only about 40 miles on it). It has a mild shift kit in it and is just Perfect. Nice crisp shifts, but NOT the harsh neck snapping types that I despise. It shifts perfectly. The neutral safety switch doesn't work and the reverse lock-out needs a new pin on the lower handle, butbeing an automatic, it really didn't matter much to me since park and all of the gears shift fine. The Front-End is Nice and Tight and the brakes work great. This Cyclone is an absolute pleasure and a Lot of fun to drive. But it really is for the type of person used to this type of car, with the horsepower that it has. It is Very Streetable and is a Great Cruiser too. The tires are new and The Brand New American Racing Wheels have no miles on them yet (they have been just balanced and installed). So, if you want a Very Rare and Attention Getting REAL and Super Nice Big Block Muscle Car for a Great Price then you have found it. You could not find a nice one of these and then restore it into what you see here for anywhere near the price I am selling it for. There is a TON of money spent on this car and it shows (WAY more than the asking price). You could not buy a 1966 GTO for near this price and, in my opinion, this is a Much Rarer and Better Looking car . And I will give the buyer a Nice Original 1966 Road and Track Magazine that compares the 6 SUPER CARS (that is what they called them back then, before they were called muscle cars) for 1966. The Cyclone GT 390, The Fairlane GT 390, The 442 with 400 engine, the GTO with 389 engine, the Chevelle SS 396 and the Buick GS 400. The Cyclone Gt was the fastest in the test. The buyer will also get some really cool original 66 Cyclone GT 390 Ads. There is NO Doubt that this is going to be a LOAD of Fun to Own and Drive for whoever buys it. There are so very few miles on the restoration. The Originality and Rarity will make it a Superb Investment while you are having Fun at the same time. And the Condition will allow it to stay nice for a Long Time ! I am selling a couple cars from my collection for a real estate transaction, so PLEASE,PLEASE, PLEASE do not make an Offer unless you are 100% sure. I honestly don't have the time to waste. Feel free to ask questions and I thank you for your interest ! P.S. CHECK EBAY TO SEEHOW MUCHTHE ASKING PRICE IS FOR OTHERS LIKE THIS,.
