Car description

1989 Mercury Tracer, 1.6L 4 cyl. engine with a 5 speed manual trans.
All offers will be considered!
It was originally from Washington state and has very little rust. Easy to work on.
Has independent 4 wheel suspension, front disc and rear drum brakes.
It's never going to be a million dollar car, but they are getting pretty rare now.
The grille and tail lights are from Australia, off a Ford Laser.
Some great high performance parts are available through
ebay.com.au that look like they could work on this car.
Has new...
Tires, 13", about 1000 miles on them, if that.
Exhaust from the manifold back.
Front brakes, calipers, rotors and pads.
Right rear strut. Left rear and both front new struts included with sale.
New radiator, hoses and thermostat.
Previous owner replaced the clutch and it still has a great high pedal.
Needs...
A windshield, cracked on passenger side.
Power steering. May need everything, maybe not. I never tried to fix it or even diagnose it.
Rear brakes need to be replaced. Parts are very cheap and can still be found easily.
Engine runs great no knocks, pings or loud death rattles, it does leak oil by the belts and they will complain sometimes. Oil is clean, no water in it.
The original radio doesn't power on and the clock on the dash either.
Drivers side fender, no damage to the door, opens and closes fine, no rubbing.
Could need other things that I haven't found, but it still is a 28 years old, rare, decent driving project car.
OEM factory service manual included with sale, as well as a bunch of extra parts.
Please ask me any questions about it before bidding.
It is being sold as is, no warranty expressed or implied.
A non-refundable $500 deposit is due at the end of auction.
The car is for sale locally and auction could end without notice.
I will do what I can to help a shipping company if you hire one.
The car will not leave until all funds are cleared. Thanks.
Local pick up is OK.
