Car description

Thank you for looking at my 1972 280sel 4.5.
This car was a true barn find! Sat in a climate controlled garage since 1984.This car has NO,ZERO rust/rot. I was truly shocked. They always rust in rockers and fenders and rear trunk area. This one had NONE!This car went through a complete mechanical refurb. Fuel tank, fuel pump and all fuel hoses. New cap, rotor, wires, plugs, air filter, fuel filter, etc. Lubed all kingpin and control arm locations as well as rear arm. There are quite a few lube points on these....
Subframe mounts replaced, steering coupler, tie rods, and alignment. Oil and filter changed. Added ZDDP additive. Transmission service with fluid, filter and gasket. All new belts and hoses. New thermostat, waterpump etc. Recored radiator AND oil cooler. New oil cooler hoses and transmission hoses to radiator.Everything works.... including factory AC and heat. Heater control valves and levers are like new.New brake pads and rebuilt calipers. Replaced all brakes hoses and flushed system completely.Replaced all 4 shocks with new Factory Bilstein shocks.Get this.... Factory sunroof woks and has been cleaned and lubed. All windows work. Even radio works. Also has factory installed 8 track player in glovebox.I know.... The ugly red carpet mats are horrible.... BUT... they were there when i bought it.
New shifter bushings and replaced shift indicator. Shift indicator wasn't working when I bought the car.
Basically,This car has been completely mechanically refurbished. I think the muffler will need replacement in the future. Otherwise, I have driven it maybe 500 miles since with zero issues. In full transparency, the car has no rust, but paint is not shiny on top surfaces. I would scuff and reshoot.
All the trim work is bright and clean. New tires and all hubcaps are present!
Please feel free to ask any questions. Bid to WIN!
Also selling my other W108 that is a rust free California car. See my other auction
