Car description

BECAUSE LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO DRIVE A BORING CAR!!! THE CLASSIC CAR GALLERY 3266 Post Rd Southport, Ct 06890 203-446-3477 1989 MERCEDES 560SL "Fanatic owned, 40,290 MILES, GORGEOUS CAR, WELL MAINTAINED, ORIGINAL WINDOW STICKER AND EXTENSIVE MAINTENANCE RECORD, THE BEST!!" VIN: WDBBA48D8KA092619 The Mercedes Benz 560SL, also known as the "107" body style, is one of the most recognized and celebrated automotive style icons of the 1970's and 80's. They are known as the pagoda style convertibles, combining vault-like build quality with excellent engineering and performance. With a sturdy removable hard top and an excellent all weather canvas convertible top, these cars offer a high level of year round practicality, style and performance. In their day, these cars were bought by the discerning enthusiasts, and its design has stood the test of time. The "107" body has now reached collector status, and low mileage, well maintained examples have become rare and collectable. This 560SL is three owner car with only 40,290 Carfax verified miles, it must be one of the finest on the market today; the car is a time capsule. Recently owned by an engineer who was fanatical with all mechanical and cosmetic maintenance of the car. The body was treated to the full $2000 GTechniq paint correction and protective coating. The original Black (040) paint has an amazingly deep luster and great shine. The Palomino Tan leather interior is beautiful; the leather is supple and feels near new with almost no wear on the drivers seat bolster. The dash is in excellent condition, the leather is tight and fresh. All gauges and ancillary components work as they should. The car has a new stereo, and its original stereo comes with the car. During the stereo installation, rather than cut the original rear parcel shelf, a new rear panel was made to house the speakers; the original panel comes with the car. This is a testament to the fanatical nature of the owner. The car has recently received the following mechanical repairs: New engine mounts New transmission mounts New shock absorbers (4) New steering damper New fuel injectors New brakes, including rotors and calipers All fluids New tires New 02 sensors New AC compressor and condenser (r134a) New relays and all fuses All original keys Refinished original wood New valve cover gaskets New radiator New transmission shifter bushings New distributor cap, rotor and plug wire All of the work was performed and documented by a master tech from Mercedes Benz of Fairfield, Ct. The motor starts easily, runs smoothly and has no issues. There are no mechanical issues with this car. The black convertible soft top is in excellent condition. The matching hardtop is excellent as well. The A/C has a new compressor and condenser, has been converted to R134a and blows cold; the climate control works as it should (a common problem area with these cars). The car rides on new tires and its original stock Mercedes rims. The underside of the car is extremely clean, belying the age of the car. The car comes with all books and maintenance records as well as the original window sticker! Bid with confidence, as this car may be one of the finest 560 SL's on the market today, and needs nothing except and enthusiastic new owner!!!
