Car description

You are bidding on a 1949 Lincoln 9EL Series, 4-door suicide-door model. It is a super-straight, very solid all-original body car, originally from Dallas, Texas. The vehicle was given a show-quality makeover in the late 1990s, and has since began to show its age in spots, but I would still consider it a very nice driver quality car. The original flathead motor was removed and replaced with a 1972 Cadillac 472 c.i. V8 motor and automatic transmission with the shifter on the floor (still has the original rear end and gears). Vehicle runs and shifts excellent and rides like a dream, with recent updated brakes as well. I removed the gas tank a couple years back with the intent to clean and re-seal the inside and temporarily installed a 12-gallon fuel cell in the trunk which it currently runs off of (I have the original gas tank which I will send with the car). The body is super straight and the floors and frame are in excellent shape with no rot. The car was repainted in a black cherry color which still shines very nicely. The hood was given a very mild vintage street-rod touch being painted semi-gloss black in the flame area, with the black cherry added to the nose of the hood. All of the chrome and trim is in excellent driver quality condition with the exception of the rear passenger side quarter panel trim which has some dings in it, and both headlight bezels which show some pitting. The original grille was replaced with a tube-type grille, which is also in good shape (I do not have the original grille.) Both bumpers have been re-chromed and are still in great shape and shine very nice. The original seats and door panels were recovered when it was restored but are both now showing its age here and there, but it is still very presentable, with the material on the front seat being the worst, for which I had placed a slip cover over for the time being. The original steering wheel and center emblem is in excellent shape, and the rest of the interior is in driver-quality condition. All of the glass is in great shape with the exception of the passenger side vent window which has some cracks in it, but is still intact and opens and closes fine, as do all of the windows. This Lincoln is a great running vehicle which is used often during the summer for cruise-ins, car shows and leisurely drives. It is not a show car, but as I said, a very nice driver which gets compliments and looks everywhere it goes. Lots of Ford and Mercury this style around but the Lincolns seem harder to come by. Drive it as-is or would be a very easy candidate to restore to original or show quality if that is what you are looking for. I have a clear, open registration/title in my name that is ready to transfer for new ownership. Sold as-is being that it is 70-years-old. Any further questions feel free to message me.
