Car description

*.

Up for sale is a '79 Lincoln Town Coupe. It has the 400 engine and an automatic transmission. Overall a pretty solid car. Its a car you could drive while you upgrade. It was part of a private collection up until about a year ago. Body The body on this one looks pretty solid. The floors and trunk look pretty nice. The biggest issue with the body is the underside of the hood. It must not have been prepped at all from the factory, as the inner structure has rusted pretty bad. The top side has a couple of small blisters, but the underside is bad. The hood still functions like it should, is not bent, and still functions perfect. The driver side fender has a rust bubble on top and a rust bubble down low. The passenger side door has a dent in the body molding. The rest of the car looks solid. It has had some paint work done many years ago. It looks like they did some panel painting all over the car. Over time the two colors fade differently and you can see where it was painted. The vinyl top is starting to split in spots as you can see in the pictures. Engine This one has the 400 engine. It starts and runs, but could use a tune up. It has been driven very little over the last 10 years. It will sit and idle, but will stumble when you go to drive. It also has some leaky valve cover gaskets. Its a typical car that has been sitting and not driven much. The transmission works well, but should probably have a the fluid flushed. I drove the car 25 miles and it did okay. All systems work such as the brakes and power steering. Interior The interior is pretty solid, especially being from the era it was from. No weird smells. The power driver side seat does not work. Both the driver and passenger side window switches will need some attention. They are sporadic as to when they work. Everything else in the car pretty much works such as the radio, dash lights, blinkers, horn, headlights, etc. It could also use a set of tires. The tires have plenty of tread, but they are dated and are showing some age cracks. The above description probably sounds worse than what the car is. I would call it an above average used car from 1979. Its a car that needs a little bit of tlc that can be driven while you work on it. In the day of high priced vehicles, this one is affordable. I would recommend trailering the car. It can be driven across town, but I wouldn't do anymore than that. I have a title. Car is sold as is. I have many more pictures available. If you want something specific, please ask. If you have anymore questions, please ask. I can store the car for a couple of weeks for no charge. I will sell to overseas buyers, but shipping, customs, etc. is your responsibility. $1000 non-refundable deposit due within 48 hours. No Paypal on this transacton.
