1974 Land Rover Series II 109

This Land Rover Series (is the parent of today`s defender) produced in 1974 for Nato Military in the UK. This truck has. according to the prior owner. been brought from Europe from were it was stationed (Norway). This low mileage truck is powered by a 2250 cc 4 cyl. engine classically produced for a lengthy time for the series models (I II III) . The four-speed manual transmission has been replaced with a non military version to gain a bit of more speed. the front brakes and rear are drums and have been recently serviced (calipers. lines. disks and pads). More recent restoration and service has been done in the engine maintenance. nbsp;transmission and engine by a specialized mechanic for Series LR. New Master cylinder. new safe belts on the rear axle. new hoses. new gas tank witch. In addition has new tires and step in pedals for the 3 doors. The truck also has been repainted in white. a new soft top with window and metal frame all supplied by Land Rover OME. has replaced the hard top and full 3rd door. It comes with an extra gasoline tank (dual tanks as seen in pictures) and an original portable gas tank. the Series II also has interesting features such a manual accelerator other than the pedal and an hot/cold water pump a 24 volt circuit (2 12 volts batteries in line) that gives exceptional strength and durability. a battery kill for preserving them (they are perfect last time i changed them was 8 year ago and car will not miss a bit) and a converter to 12 volts for any accessory. Original military green has been changed in a more subtle white so the seats have been re-upholstered to a nice mocha color. the military hitch has been replaced with a regular 2 inches plus accessory. It has very minor leakage which can be cured with new seals. There is no rust on frame being aluminum. it has a rear bumper that will eventually need attention and replacement and has minor rust on hinges and non vital parts. It needs very minor detailing to be brought to exceptional condition. It is amazingly nice truck. exotic and head spinner when driven to town or to the beach. if you prefer to review truck. you are welcome to inspect it before auction end. Truck is sold as is.
