NOTE FROM OWNER:Bought the Rover in 1998 in Idaho. Took me a long time to finally purchase her and the license plate is from 1988. Ran when I bought it. Brought it to Montana and parked in my Quonset Hut and has not moved since. I am selling it "as-is" and the engine is FREE but will need some attention due to age.Series II spans 1958-1960. Changes from Series I:Still 88" like Series I, ut new style 7.5" wider vehicle. New and wider axles for wider body. This new body style would be shape for future years. Wider and larger axles meant to be able to drive at angle of 45 degrees.2.25 liter petrol engine increased horsepower to 77-81 bhp with Solex carb. Road speed increased by 10 mph. or 60 mph. with a 25% increase in torque.Softer road springswere added for a better ride from the factory. Below the 'barrel sides' were added with 'Modesty skirts' (rocker panels) to cover exhaust pipe and chassis frame. The turning radius was reduced and sliding side windows were added. Hinges on my Landie are intact and not rusted. The Land Rover Solihull Warwickshire Station Wagon Royal Viking Ship Badges were retained. Many options were available and this Land Rover has most of them. Tropical Roof Insulator (which mine has no dents) was standard. Lucas windshield wiper motor assembly and some Lucas glass signal lamps remaining on Land Rover. Twin Horns, einforced Axle Casings, ust Proofed Air Cleaner Breather, rop Plate Hitch, ocking door handles, assenger lucas Wiper Assembly, eluxe Inside Door Panels, lutch and Brake Pedal Rubber Covers and Sun Visors. I am Including a FAIRY OVERDRIVE unit I bought last year which was an expensive option which adds 10mph and better fuel mileage. The best was always the last year 1960. Extra options as above and the Series II would last into the 1980's.
