Car description

NO RESERVE!

This is a very clean, all original, 100% rust free California Jeep Wrangler Islander with the 4.2 liter 6 cylinder (with the 50-state emission legal Howell fuel injection conversion - installed 3 years ago), and with the strong/reliable Aisin AX15 5-speed manual (not the weak Peugeot transmission that was also available this year).
The vehicle build date was 3/2/1989 and it has about 3k miles on a rebuilt engine (with documentation), new clutch, new catalytic converter and muffler, new soft top, new carpeting, Sony detachable face stereo (with aux input), a Tuffy security console (with a locking provision for the stereo), all new soft top hardware, plus good tires (about 60-70 percent tread life remaining), brakes, shocks, running gear, axles, and no axle or gear noises. I also recently replaced the fuel sending unit, headlight switch, and instrument cluster circuit board (for the engine gauges). ALL gauges work - even the analog clock!, along with all exterior lights and signals.

The vehicle also has NO accident history and NO odometer rollback. Brake pads are about 95% front and rear. The paint is also all original and still in very good condition (minus a few minor blemishes - see photos). The "Sun Glow" decal on hood, however, is mostly faded off.
This vehicle runs and drives very well, and is very fun in the summer. I'm also included a near brand-new bimini/bikini top and tonneau cover, plus a California smog certificate - if the buyer is from California and/or registers it in CA. I will not smog the vehicle if you're an out-of-state buyer, as a CA smog check would not be valid in your state. However, you should have no issues passing any state emission test since this vehicle runs very clean, with near zero emissions at the tail pipe once warm, and it's equipped with the 50-state legal Howell fuel injection conversion. Also, if fires right up - even after sitting for weeks in cold weather.
Major factory options: Islander package, power steering, tilt steering wheel, 20 gallon fuel tank, 4.2 liter 6 cylinder engine.
Fresh oil change about 100 miles ago, and all other major fluids (transmission, transfer case, and axles) changed (to synthetic) about 2k miles ago.

Blemishes/defects - the the intermittent function of the windshield wipers don't work (but the regular wipers work fine, and I've rarely driven this in the rain, so never fixed it). Also, the trim piece around the stereo is broken. However, this would be a cheap and easy fix by purchasing a replacement bezle off Ebay (I just never got around to fixing it). The factory (plastic) glove box hinge is also broken - but the cover attaches fine (to the lower passenger dashboard area), and I've never used it anyway due to the Tuffy security box.

I'm sad to see this go, but it's time to move on, and I have too many cars.
Clean/clear California title in hand, clean CarFax, and being sold by an honest seller. Also I have owned it for just over 3 years - purchased from a dealer in Modesto, CA. The vehicle is originally from Mountain View and Arnold, CA (to my knowledge).
Please DON'T BID if you're not serious, or don't have the money to complete the transaction.

Also, while I have attempted to describe everything about the vehicle, I may have missed something. As such, please email me with any questions. Also, I would prefer an in-person transaction, but will assist in whatever way I can, should you need to ship the vehicle.
Thank you, and good luck with the auction.
